It’s no secret that the year 2020 is not one for a grand wedding; rather one in which having an intimate wedding is the new normal. So today, we are introducing this couple who knew they’re months away from having a big fat Indian wedding so they decided to go with an intimate one instead.

Sanya and Arpan were high school sweethearts who had no plans of getting hitched this year; however, Arpan’s grandmother was quite ill and so this couple decided to seal the deal. But when the lockdown was declared in India, this duo saw this as an opportunity rather than a situation which would put them off. Arpan said, "I found the idea of an intimate wedding really good considering we could still have our nearest and dearest ones and avoid all the extra drama that comes with a grand wedding. I am happy to be able to spend more time with Sanya now!"

Introducing Arpan & Sanya’s Cutesy Intimate Wedding

Sanya & Arpan went through a lot of bumps leading up to the day of the wedding like finding the mehndi artist. They especially had to get a store opened to get the bridal chooda and kaleere for our bride Sanya. They even had to ask their wedding designer to simply send any sample pieces available at the time for their wedding attire (talk about an impromptu intimate wedding, huh!?).

All in all, exactly 50 people were a part of Arpan and Sanya’s big day with many other relatives and friends present on a zoom call. They got basic decoration done by known people and handed out masks, gloves and sanitizers to ensure everyone’s safety

On having a grand reception when the situation gets better, the couple said, "We’re definitely planning a grand reception but only after things get back to normal."

Final Words By Arpan & Sanya

"Guys, firstly don’t feel bad. You can have a wedding in the lockdown with your nearest and dearest and the rest of the friends and family can always be a part of your big day virtually. Also, intimate weddings have become a new trend and getting hands-on this won’t be difficult anymore as now shops are open in an odd and even manner so you can easily get wedding things," said the couple.
