"True love asks no questions. Makes no reservations. But puts itself unconditionally into the hands of the loved one."

Finding your partner is like finding the person your soul loves. And when two people who love each other with their souls tie the knot, their wedding rituals result in a wonderful union which is worth celebrating. That's why, whenever we witness a gorgeous wedding taking place, that too in the beautiful backdrop of the hills of Mussoorie, we know that it's something that must be shared with all of our lovely brides-to-be!

Scroll down below to witness the scenic wedding of Ishu and Rishabh, who turned their engagement into a full-fledged wedding celebration!

Introducing Ishu & Rishabh's Scenic Mussoorie Wedding

"You better save my number, it’s going to change your life!"

These were the exact words said by Rishabh to Ishu in their first-ever text exchange. Cocky, sure (for which the groom to be sure got a well-deserved phone call in return). But true in many ways. After all, this was the first step in a long term relationship between a total hipster and a Silicon Valley smartass!

Thus, began the journey of Ishu and Rishabh who got to know each other through phone calls, video calls and endless text messages. While Ishu showed him the ghats of Banaras through her travel escapades, Rishabh showed off his pro fooseball skills. Texts turned to calls and short conversations turned into longer one, "We never knew when—or even if— and where love will find us, but something was keeping two hopeless romantics entertained, and I was loving it."

As the months passed by in getting to know each other, the duo was finally ready to meet each other, even if one was in India and the other all the way across the world in California. Minds made up and tickets booked, it was finally time to meet each other. But instead, the pandemic reached its peak and their plan was put on hold. But the couple was undeterred, "From online Chai dates to zoom movie nights, we both knew how to have fun while the world was going upside down."

And after spending six months testing and trying their long-distance relationship, Ishu finally braved him to book his flight again to see her in person for the first time. When Rishabh's flight landed at 12 am on 9th October, she saw him face to face for the first time as he rushed to her, "Jeez, my first thought upon seeing him was that he was tall! But I hugged him right away. I felt as if the world stopped moving, and all my prayers were answered. It was an indescribable feeling juggling inside of me while driving him to his hotel, and somehow, I escaped crashing my car while my mind was totally out of control with joy!"

"Honestly, it didn't feel like I was meeting a stranger. In fact, as we both spent the next day opening gifts, sharing secrets and sipping on chai, we both came to a realization that 'love at first sight' was no joke. It was a real thing!" Ishu continues as she recalled her progressing relationship with Rishabh, "We proposed each other the very next day and little do we know; the shit was about to get real! Our parents met a week later, and without delay, we proposed to each other the very next day then our parents met a week later."

Soon, the wedding bells were chiming for the couple, who decided to have an engagement in Mussoorie at JW Marriot, making it a grand yet intimate celebration. The couple decided to take things up a notch and a week before everything was due to take place, they proposed the idea to their parents that they should get married the very next day of their engagement. And boy, was it a joyride!

Sunlit Engagement Ceremony

The close-knit wedding celebration of Rishabh and Ishu started with a breezy, sunlit engagement. Ishu looked flawless in a peachy Anarkali suit which she paired with minimal jewellery and an open hairstyle with curls falling over her shoulders. Rishabh, on the other hand, chose a blue bandhgala kurta looking dapper for the first ceremony. The couple gathered with their family members over the rooftop of Walnut Grove JW Marriot, where they exchanged rings, cut the cake and danced the afternoon away in the most fashionable and loving way possible.

Intimate Wedding Day

The main wedding was like watching a scene from the famously loved movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', with the Ladkiwalas and Ladkewalas combining their effort to dance in the baraat together. Ishu chose to convert her earlier engagement outfit into her bridal lehenga, which was a gorgeous blush pink and powder blue ensemble with mirror work. Paired with a polki and pearl necklace, small jhumkis and a pretty maangtikka, Ishu completed her look with minimal makeup which she did herself and a low bun. Rishabh matched his bride's pastel ensemble with a white kurta-pyjama and a grey and white Nehru jacket.

Talking about their wedding, the couple said, "This is how we're going to remember 2020! Rishabh and I both love the sheer sentiments of joy and established our life-long togetherness in this global pandemic. Very fortunate to the almighty and all the elder’s blessings that nobody got COVID-19 later, and our marriage became a hit!"
