Three days before the launch date, couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee took to his Instagram to announce his new upcoming campaign called, ‘Couture 2022’. The first sneak-peak post of the collection was enough to tell us that this will be no ordinary collection. We got a sense of vibe that the new collection will be fresh and unlike anything Mukherjee has done before. Lucky for us, that is exactly what Sabyasachi offered us — fresh, glamorous, royal and whatnot. Scroll below to find out everything about the renowned designer’s latest collection!

All That Glitters Ft. Sabyasachi’s Couture 2022 Collection

Inspired by the 19th-century Marble Palace in North Calcutta, Sabyasachi’s new collection features all kinds of silhouettes for all kinds of brides. The collection revolves around dark and sombre hues such as brown, beige and olive green. And, while we had our reservations about these colours, once the collection was launched, we couldn’t help but be head over heels for all the pieces!

One of the first pieces of the collection is this striking hand-dyed portrait gown layered with embroidered tulle. It has all elements that a bride can want in her bridal outfits such as a low neck, embellishments and sequins work and stunning details on the sleeves!

Another gown that got our hearts beating fast is this silver and dusty gold one that is embellished with bevel beads, and sequins. The panelling in the lower half of the gown is so beautiful that we can imagine any bride opting for this outfit for her cocktail function!

Coming to sarees, Mukherjee left no stone unturned to give his quintessential sarees a fresh take. From his hand-dyed tulle sari embellished with bevel beads, semi-precious stones, crystals and sequins with an embroidered sequin blouse and jacket to his embroidered saree with semi-precious stones and crystals and a printed velvet bikini blouse, there’s something not just for the bride but also for her friends, mother and sister!

Can we also take a moment to appreciate the new variations of his iconic Royal Bengal Minaudière. I mean, which bride would not want to get hands on this embellished beauty for her bridal trousseau!?

We also cannot stop swooning over his immaculate new lehengas. The play on embellishments and sequins is so refined in each and every piece and let’s not forget his eye for detailing with the little patches, here and there!

Lastly, we also cannot help but lust over Sabyasachi’s fine jewelry pieces. From the statement choker set to the diamond drop earrings, there’s so much for brides to bookmark and add to their cart.
