Wedding Revelries of Ishita & Aman

Effervescent Haldi

Ishita & Aman rung in their wedding celebrations with an outdoor Haldi ceremony which was painted in rich and effervescent hues. Yellow drapes, multi-hued flowers, sit-down arrangements and a printed snake & ladder floor were the key decor elements of the ceremony. We loved how the plush environs of the breathtaking hilly backdrop lent their haldi rituals all sorts of charm & elegance. However, what attracted our attention the most was the happy & glistening faces of the guests who were throughout seen frolicking around with the couple, making their Haldi one cheery affair.

Going matchy-matchy with the decor, Ishita picked a sunshin-ing yellow lehenga with a contrasting fuschia pink blouse for her Haldi ceremony. She teamed it up with a pair of scintillating meenakari earrings and let her innocent sans makeup face, red lips & bindi do all the talking. Aman, on the other hand, kept it all classic in a white Kurta-Pyjama and rounded off his look with a pair of loafers and black sunnies.

Vibrant Mehndi

The Haldi ceremony was followed by a high-spirited Mehndi which was a day full of fun and dancing. The ace team of Shanqh Events left no stone unturned in working their magic and prettified the picturesque venue with the best of decor elements for the ceremony. While the sitting lounges were all draped in pink, yellow and green hues along with cutesy decor elements, the entrance was amped up with a gorgeous archway featuring multiple tasseled hangings. The couple's mehndi seating was also exquisitely done with marigold & tuberose garlands.

Clad in a custom-made purple & fuchsia tie dye falling flower lehenga choli with a mirror embroidered scalloped dupatta & a spectacular bib necklace, Ishita looked drop dead gorgeous on her Mehndi ceremony. Complementing with her outfit, Makeup Artist Leena Bhushan gave her a fresh and clean face with a pop fuschia pink on her lips and turned her hair into a gorgeous cascade of curls. Aman too delved into the mehndi feels and dressed suitably for the function. He wore a navy blue cowled kurta, dhoti pants and teamed it up with an embellished fuchsia pink nehru jacket from Qbik, making for a dapper groom.

Glamorous Cocktail

Since the couple wanted at least one of their wedding events to be all filmy, the cocktail bash was aptly themed around the showbiz world. A dazzling red carpet was laid at the entrance along with some filmy posters adorning the walls on either side and a lit archway in the centre. The bar was done in the shape of a clapperboard and the wedding cake looked like a film reel with popcorns on it. Other than that, there were also huge monograms lit with bulbs festooning the entrance area that added to the beauty of the night.

For the cocktail bash, the groom opted for a velveteen tuxedo in blue and teamed it up with a white shirt, textured vest and a bow tie. The bride, on the other hand, wore a neel blue lehenga splattered with laser cut mirrors in varied shapes from Akanksha Gajria. She fashioned it with an edgy pair of haath phools and glamorous studded earrings. Taupe lips, well-highlighted cheeks, fluttery lashes and shimmery eyes further topped off her look.

Getting into the details of her outfit, the bride shares,

I had planned for a week's trip to India for deciding on my outfits, but during my online research, my eyes got stuck on this beautiful blue lehenga from Akanksha Gajria which was a part of Bridal Asia ad. I had asked my mom and maasi to check it for me when I landed in India without wasting time I went to Akanksha's studio to try this outfit, and without any doubt, I knew it this would be my cocktail outfit. It was love at first sight!!

She showed true patience with me and my family [I might have a significant case of bridezilla ;)]

Dreamy Wedding

The wedding day unfolded on a happy note with the bride and groom dressed in their stylish best. Aman rocked a cream-colored sherwani with a printed kurta, a peacock blue velvet shawl and a gold-beige safa, looking like a desi groom. While Ishita nailed a royal bridal look dressed up in a traditional red lehenga featuring scalloped edgings and over the top details. She beautifully teamed it up with double-dupattas, one neatly pinned on her head and the other draped to perfection. However, it was her jewellery, comprising of an elaborate maang tikka, a polki choker, a phenomenal rani haar and some chunky bangles, that added a wow factor to her look.

Apart from their mesmerizing outfits and soul-stirring rituals, another major highlight from their beautiful day of the union was the bride's stellar entry. She ditched taking the usual route and walked down the aisle with her best men, her father & brother on her favorite song 'Thousand Years' being played by Russian artists on violin and saxophone. And all we could do was gush in awe!

Glitzy Reception

Concluding their celebrations in as much style, Aman & Ishita hosted a glam reception party for their guests. The decorations for the night were kept to minimal yet classy with the stage all bedecked with peachy drapes, a floral backdrop, whimsical ceiling decor and some vintage sofa seatings for the couple.

For the reception, Ishita dressed in an exceptionally modern lehenga skirt partly detailed with gold embroideries on the hem and a unique structured blouse by Shantanu & Nikhil. We loved how she kept her jewellery to minimal & let her smokey shimmery eyes, nude lips, and poker straight hair accentuate the look. Complementing her well, Aman wore a velvet touch tux with an ivory shirt, printed bow tie and a smile so wide.

Sharing insights from her reception dress shopping, Ishita said,

I did not want to wear just anything. I was looking for that one perfect dress which will reflect my true self and bring out my inner confidence. I wanted a timeless ensemble which would teleport me to my happiest day no matter when I look at it in the future. When I glanced at the Shantanu Nikhil dress, I was enchanted, mesmerized and at that very moment, I knew that my search for that perfect reception dress was over. I thank them for their creativity, hospitality, par excellence service and most importantly for making me the happiest bride on my special day.

Ishita & Aman's Beautiful Love Tale & Wedding Proposal

How They Met

Its well said that the right person will come around when you least expect it! That was the case with Aman and me. Never thought a dating app could bring us together. The first time we met, we knew we share something special, we had an instant connection like we knew each other for a long time. He is a doctor, and I am an engineer, who would have thought we would share such chemistry!! I would say we both believe in enjoying and being happy in the present.

The Wedding Proposal

Aman knew I always wanted things to be grand, he left no stone unturned in planning a proposal which would take my breath away. He proposed to me on a beautiful day in a lovely yacht, singing the most romantic song overlooking the golden gate bridge. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Only after the fact, he disclosed that he was working on it for a few months. He found an Italian accordion player who would play perfect Bollywood songs and Aman practiced with him over Skype for days. He found Josh, our boat captain and planned every intricate detail from sneaking in the musician, the roses and the champagne into the boat. My brother, Neil was Aman's partner in crime, and they got me on the yacht with the pretext of shooting for a small music video for laughs and giggles. Rest is history...

I still remember the moment when he asked me to marry him with the ring in his hand and him on his knee. I froze with joy and a feeling of surreal.

Couple's Experience with the Vendors

Wedding Photographer: House on the Clouds

I wanted someone to capture the wedding memories that can be treasured and stays with me forever. Somebody who can enshrine our beautiful story through the lenses. When I saw 'House on the Clouds work I knew it has to be them or no one else (and I mean that, I never had an option for second best in my list). I remember how unsettling it was until I got a response from them that they would be a part of our wedding in Shimla. Words cannot justify the work, the art and the ethics of the house on the clouds. Those who could not attend our wedding, when they look at the wedding pictures, they feel they were actually a part of the wedding. They not only captured the people but also the emotions and that is priceless!!

Wedding Planner and Decorator: Shanqh Wedding Planners

Manvir & Siddhant are two rock star wedding planners. High energy but yet cool under pressure. Aman and I have probably exchanged not hundreds but thousands of messages over WhatsApp over several months leading up to the wedding. Our wedding planners toured the wedding venue multiple times and kept us updated via video, pictures, and facetime. They had made detailed blueprints of the site and had each and every details and various contingencies well planned and rehearsed. Being the master of their art, they gave a lot of creative input regarding the décor and entertainment, but they were also very receptive to our requests and vision. To be able to move the entire logistics from Delhi to a hill station in Kufri is no mean task. Hats off to them and their team for letting us and our families have the time of our lives while they were running the event seamlessly from behind the curtains.

Makeup & Hair: Face stories by Leena Bhushan

Every bride deserves to look and feel her best on her wedding day. That’s what I found in every bride of this beautiful lady Leena Bhushan. Looking at her impeccable work, I knew quite a long time back that she is the who I wanted. She definitely brought out the best in me, making sure each and every look of 4 functions were different from each other and the best in itself. Her friendliness and professionalism are second to none. I am glad I found her for my big day and that she came all the way to the Himalayas in freezing November :)
