#SauMeinEk: An Arranged Turned Love Marriage - Thanks To The Lockdown

#SauMeinEk is the story of Saumya and Abhishek who first met at Saumya’s house because the parents thought it would be a good idea to set up these two together. When Saumya first met Abhishek at her house, her first impression about him was that he can never stop talking. Yes, our dapper groom Abhishek didn’t let Saumya utter a word in the first meeting. That’s why when the duo met for the second time, Saumya came prepared with a list and made sure that Abhishek listens to her. It is in this meeting that both Saumya and Abhishek realized that this was it. They said yes and the wedding date was fixed for 25th April 2020. And, as you all know that the COVID-19 virus had just entered India, the wedding was postponed. But from this moment, the story only gets interesting. #SauMeinEk A Beautiful Wedding Affair

Saumya and Abhishek’s wedding got postponed 2 weeks before the date but the couple took it on a positive note. This delay was utilized by our duo profoundly as they took it as a sort of dating phase. They both were constantly hooked to their phones and used to stay up till dawn, talking about anything and everything. It is during these phone calls that Saumya and Abhishek actually fell in love with each other. And, finally #SauMeinEk took place on 25th November 2020 among the nearest and dearest ones. 

The Intimate Wedding Kickstarted With The Haldi Function

Saumya’s wedding festivities kickstarted with the haldi function which took place at Saumya’s home. Our beautiful bride wore a gorgeous tie-dye saree with a stunning backless, bow-tie blouse. The cutest part? Saumya’s brothers coordinated her outfit by donning matching printed kurtas on the haldi function. The haldi function was a fun-filled occasion where Saumya and her family looked extremely happy! 

A Beautiful Boho Mehendi Function

On the same day as the haldi function, Saumya’s mehendi function took place at her home only. For this wedding function, Saumya donned a boho cream lehenga with mirror work. Along with the boho outfit, our bride donned floral jewelry which included a floral tiara which was so pretty that a lot of you to-be brides are going to bookmark it for your own mehendi function. Apart from the bride’s overall look, the decor of the function too was set to be boho. You would easily be able to spot the dream catchers and the fun polaroid picture wall! 

We Are In Awe of the ‘Jaipur Street Fiesta’ Function 

Abhishek and Saumya kept a ‘Jaipur Street Fiesta’ function which was basically for their nearest and dearest ones to have a good time at. Everyone was asked to wear color-coordinated outfits, there was a ‘bazaar theme’, jutis were kept for the men, one could get a portrait of themselves, get mehendi put on and could also enjoy fun games. Basically, this was for the guests to relax and enjoy #SauMeinEk to their fullest. 

The Intimate Yet Full Of Life Engagement Function

Abhishek and Saumya’s engagement and sangeet function took place at ITC Rajputana, amongst their nearest and dearest ones. Both the bride and groom color coordinated in lovely and elegant outfits from Sulakshana Monga. And, the decor for this wedding function was kept classy and elegant, exactly how engagement and sangeet functions should be like. There were quite a few performances at this function by the bride and her bridesmaids and even the groom and the bride together! 

The Big Day 

Hats off to the couple for planning all the wedding functions’ themes and details intricately cuz when we first saw the wedding decor and even the bride and groom’s outfits, we fell in love. For the big day, Saumya and Abhishek both wore traditional bridal outfits from Rimple and Harpreet Narula which were drop-dead gorgeous. Oh, and we love Saumya's wedding day jewelry too. The ceremony took place at ITC Rajputana’s poolside area with minimalist decor. It was a stunning ceremony full of love.
