Weddings that have something unique and are curated around unconventional themes instantly make us go gaga. And the moment we got notified of this surreally beautiful panch-tatva wedding in our mailbox, we knew we're not missing out on it at any cost!

Hosted at the lush lawns of the Aranya Farm, Ahmedabad, Prapti and Chinmay's wedding was a perfect concoction of all things pretty. While we completely loved how phenomenally the ace planner Kankoo Thaapa infused the charm of 'the five elements of life—Air, Water, Space, Earth, Fire' into the wedding, it wasn't the only thing that captivated our hearts. There were gobs of elements about this wedding like the bride's stunning sangeet outfit, the DIY mehndi wall and the couple's intense reception shots that instantly got us rooting for this wedding from rooftops. And to top it all was the outstanding photography of the skilled team of Memoire. They did full justice to the couple and captured the most special days of their lives with so much finesse and perfection.

Jaunty & Colourful Wedding Ceremonies of Prapti & Chinmay

Intimate Mehndi

Prapti and Chinmay commenced their wedding celebrations with a fun and low-key Mehndi ceremony amidst the presence of their close friends and family members. The decorations for the ceremony were kept to minimal with a beautiful wall made of cloth patches put up behind the bride's mehndi seating. Guests spent the day having a gala time and dancing around the bride to entertain her, while she got her hands laden with mehndi.

We loved how the couple kept in sync with the fresh vibes of the event and dressed themselves up in color-coordinated outfits. Prapti was resplendent in a printed black lehenga skirt and a zero neck blouse fashioned with a beautifully embroidered jacket. She teamed her look with a pair of floral motif earrings, deep maroon lips, subtle makeup, and naturally wavy tresses. Chinmay, on the other hand, looked all classy in his black kurta which he perfectly paired with an offbeat styled Nehru jacket in beige.

Auspicious Ganesh Puja & Colorful Pithi Ceremony

The joyous mehndi ceremony was followed by a day full of boisterous rituals. It began with an auspicious Grahshanti puja at both, the bride as well as the groom's side separately, where the two indulged in ceremonial rites to bring prosperity and happiness to their lives. The decorations for the day were kept all colorful and happy.

The bride's home was bedecked in hues of pink, red and violet with a lot of quirky elements to steal. The sofa seatings were trimmed with jaunty jaipuri cushions and some brass vessels kept on the sides. The DIY mehndi wall was repurposed as a backdrop against the bride's seating. But what caught our attention the most was the personalized wall created with embroidery hoops which had the couple's photos on it. The groom's puja setup, on the other hand, was just as effervescent as the bride's. The decorations were themed around yellow and orange hues. Vases filled with marigolds, vibrant gota walls, ornate tables and a comfy sofa were all incorporated in the decor to quirk up the venue.

For the puja, Prapti donned a banarasi saree with a round neck blouse and looked her traditional best. She accessorized her look with an understated choker necklace, a pair of matching earrings and a maang tikka. A slick tight centre-parted bun, a bindi and minimal makeup further rounded off her look. Chinmay whereas picked an all-white kurta-pyjama and teamed it up with gold embellished Nehru jacket.

The Ganesh puja was soon followed by a high-spirited pithi ceremony (popularly known as the haldi ceremony) which witnessed the guests pouring the couple with a fistful of flowers and smearing their faces with turmeric paste. The bride slipped into an easy-breezy maxi dress for her pithi rituals and accessorized it with layered rani haar. The groom too changed into a comfy kurta-pyjama set and enjoyed to the fullest.

Sangeet Ceremony

The Sangeet ceremony was one glam affair with a lot of fun activities to forward to. Unlike the usual choreographed performances, the night saw the family of bride and groom dedicating speeches, dances and songs to the to-be-wed couple. The decor was yet another takeaway from the glamorous bash. We loved how the stage was perked up with printed drapes, a beauteous floral arch, some vintage tables, lanterns and huge signage. The ceiling of the sitting lounges was beautifully lit up with bulbs. A quirky photobooth was also put up in a corner for the guests to click some amazing pictures.

Dressed in a yummy powder blue lehenga with fancy gold detailings, Prapti made for an uber chic bride. She accentuated her Mrunalini Rao ensemble by draping her peachy dupatta like a cape and paired it with a unique polki necklace featuring guttapusalu details. For the makeup, Niyati Shah gave her subtle shimmery eyes with taupe lips and completed her look with a mesmerizing braided hairdo. Complementing her just well, Chinmay wore an asymmetrically hemmed achkan in blue with a pair of ivory pants and printed loafers.

Panchtatva Themed Wedding

Prapti and Chinmay's wedding was themed around the panch tatvas (the five elements: earth, fire, air, sky and water). All the five elements were beautifully incorporated in the wedding. The mandap was thoughtfully set on a lotus lake with a gorgeous marigold backdrop, printed floor and some sitting arrangements. The wedding planner, Kankoo Thaapa even designed a soul-shape to represent the couple's union and used it as a backdrop in the mandap and all around the wedding venue. Moreover, the couple had got as many as 11 pandits on board to chant the mantras during their wedding day proceedings.

Looking his stylish best in a mint green sherwani from Koro, Chinmay made a regal entry on an elephant and danced his heart out with all the baraatis. Prapti, on the other hand, made our hearts skip a beat with her gorgeous bridal look in an ivory lehenga from Vasansi Jaipur. Wearing subtle and dewy makeup with bold lips and some noteworthy baubles, the bride walked down the aisle on the song 'Can't help falling in love with you' and shone like a star.

Glamorous Reception

A lavish outdoor reception hosted at the plush property of Ambagan plot was the perfect way to wrap-up the celebrations. Staying true to the vibes of the ceremony, Prapti wore an exceptionally feminine deep maroon gown with lacey deets and glimmering embellishments. To add oddles of charm to her look, she let her hair open and donned bold lips with dewy base. Chinmay too looked all debonair in his scintillating steel grey tux with a maroon tie and ivory shirt.

Just like the bride and groom's outfits, the decorations for the night were also kept top-notch. The entrance of the venue was outlined with loads and loads of fairy lights & candles. The mini-pool-cum-pond was prettified with floating candle trays amidst the small fountains. We also witnessed whimsical trees spiralled with fairy lights and strung with cascading bulb adornments filled with a bunch of baby's breaths.

Prapti & Chinmay's Sweet Love Story

Prapti and Chinmay met at an inter-college event where Prapti was the organising the fashion show as a choreographer and Chinmay was participating as the model and that's where they got introduced to each other. During the span of the event their friendship grew stronger over cups of coffees and rides to and fro from college.

Post the event, the true journey towards a budding relationship began with prolonged text messages and phone calls. And many calls, meetings, and secret trips eventually led them to enter in a relationship. The story moved to the western parts of the worlds as they decided to advance their careers in the US, but as fortune would have it, Prapti got admission in California and Chinmay got in New York. However, miles were just a number for the two people in love and they face-timed their way through the long distance to end up with each other. And with all the twists and turns, Chinmay finally proposed Prapti in Paris in front of Eiffel tower, and that's how they got engaged.
