Karan Johar turned a year older on 25th May and the birthday was a milestone for the filmmaker. As someone who is known to love parties and celebrations, Johar ensured that his 50th birthday bash was nothing short of exciting. With some of the industry's biggest names in attendance like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, his diamond jubilee birthday bash was a glitzy and glamourous celebration with everyone dressed in impeccable fashion.

Who Wore What At Karan Johar's 50th Birthday

Karan Johar

Wowing everyone, and fittingly so, was the birthday boy himself. Dressed in a stunning green shimmer tuxedo by Dolce & Gabbana, Karan made sure that the limelight solely belonged to him. Along with being in charge of bringing the bling, Johar's stylist Eka Lakhani added a cool pair of Gucci shades and Tom Ford bow tie to complete the look. Formal but modish and definitely the life of the party. 

 

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif 

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are basically Bollywood royalty at this point. The newlyweds looked ravishing with Vicky in his favourite black velvet suit by Manish Malhotra and Katrina in a white Magda Butrym mini dress. Adding more oomph to her look were the alluring white feathers hanging off of her shoulder and a pair of ankle-strap silver stilettos, nailing her party look to the T. 

 

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan

Speaking of royalty, the Pataudi couple looked absolutely gorgeous in their fits. Bebo wore a Paco Rabanne sleeveless silver dress with a deep V embellished neckline, which her stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi styled with an amazing Dolce & Gabbana clutch and Gucci stilettos. Making jaw drops everywhere they go!

 

Malaika Arora 

When the pictures of Malaika Arora hit the internet, we knew that summer had arrived! Looking hot and deadly in her neon green Alex Perry's satin suit set, Malaika brought the midriff-flossing trend to light with a bralette and finished her look with Versace's hot pink platform pumps. And the tiered necklace flaunting on her gorgeous neckline is just the perfect way to finish the ensemble!

 

Parineeti Chopra

The Falguni Shane Peacock mini dress with full sleeves as seen on Parineeti Chopra was picked out by her stylist, Tanya Ghavri. She gleamed the entire night in the embellished silver dress which she kept nice and fresh with pointed toe pumps and a sleek low ponytail.  

 

Anushka Sharma 

Cut out outfits never looked this pretty! Dressed in a beautiful black, body-hugging dress by Elisabetta Franchi, Anushka's exquisite dress came with a keyhole neckline and a midriff-baring detail which looked fabulous with a chain accessory. Finished with open beach waves and multiple bracelets and cuffs, the starlet looked elegant and lovely as ever. 

 

Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan

The Khan siblings showed up to the event twining in their captivating black outfits. While Ibrahim chose a sauce pantsuit, Sara Ali Khan dazzled in her strapless sequin dress by Nedret Taciroğlu. To finish her look, the Atrangi Re starlet finished the look with a broad velvet belt, a Saint Laurent embellished clutch and pointed-toe pumps! 

 

Kiara Advani 

Talk about hot and happening! Always serving impeccable looks, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actress made it happen again as she stepped out in a Jacquemus white jacket and a a mini silver bling skirt with a slit from Monisha Jaising. With no accessories and just ankle-strap stilettos, her OOTN was everything we hoped for and much more!

 

Janhvi Kapoor 

The irresistibly gorgeous Janhvi Kapoor was shining in her magenta, customer made Manish Malhotra chain mail slit gown for an evening full of glamour and glitter. According to the designer, the outfit took 550-hour took to construct and has multiple chains linked together to form a well-defined fabric. In fact, every seam of the gown was hand tacked and hammered then dyed in pink!  The gown was finally customised with a sweet plunge neckline and a cowl lower back styled with a tonal belt. 

 

Ranveer Singh 

The fashion king of Bollywood himself showed up in a sporty and spiffy holographic bomber jacket paired with a formal shirt, black tie and plain trousers. As usual, offbeat and fun, Ranveer Singh really looked fabulous as he brought in his cool vibe with him.

 

Kriti Sanon 

Kriti Sanon came in the mood for some wine dressed in heaps of sparkle! Looking gorgeous in the wine coloured Surya Sarkar's wrap-style sequin dress with lace embroidered full sleeves, a plunging neckline, shoulder pads, and an asymmetric hem, the ensemble was perfect for the party!

 

Tara Sutaria

Choosing to look ravishing in white, the Heropanti 2 actress was spotted in a Manish Malhotra strapless co-ord set with a strapless blouse and a high-waisted maxi skirt. The ensemble was embellished with pearl and sequins and paired with a fringed stole that made her glimmer brighter than before. 

 

Manushi Chhillar

Now that's a statement neckline! Wearing a marvellous black gown with a structured scooped neckline and a thigh high slit, Manushi Chhullar looked radiant like a vintage beauty. The bodycon fit of the maxi dress added to the sex appeal of her look, all completed with a pair of sheer gloves and sling-back pumps.

 

Ananya Panday

Studded in an array of embellishments, Ananya Pandey's halter neck gown is a piece from Yousef Al Jasmi's collection. Coupled with shiny tassels, she looked like a bombshell, all complete with a pair of platform heels, glimmering jewellery and a top knot.

 

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor

The Jersey actor and his darling wife looked bright and radiant as ever while channelling the whole 'Night & Day' vibe. While Shahid Kapoor wore an embroidered tuxedo by Shantanu & Nikhil while Mira Rajput looked ethereal in a classic strapless dress with sequins and stars embroidered on it by Falguni Shane Peacock. Talk about couple goals!

 

Shanaya Kapoor

Unravelled yet elegant, this daring fit worn by Shanaya Kapoor is breathtaking to look at. The Giovanni halter-neck velvet gown with a side cut-out and thigh-high slit looked mind blowing in every way!

 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are a couple we always swoon over. Aishwarya looked extra goddess-like in her shimmery gold body-con gown that she paired with a black single button blazer. Whereas, Abhishek Bachchan chose a black tuxedo with sequin embellishments on it. Sexy, awe-inspiring and absolutely gorgeous!

 

Varun Dhawan

Well, serving us a proper and offbeat look that night was Varun Dhawan. Choosing to ditch the all black look, Dhawan wore a blingy, double breasted blazer in silver and looked absolutely dapper like a diamond!

 

Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor 

The mother-son duo wowed us with their appearance on KJo's birthday bash's red carpet. Ranbir wore a glory blue jacket which he paired with a simple tee and trousers and added a splash of fun with his sunglasses. Along with Ranbir was his mother Neetu Kapoor who kept her look single toned with a white pantsuit paired with an emerald pendant and a simple black clutch!

 

Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad 

Rumoured love birds, Hritik Roshan and Saba Azad were also present for the filmmaker's birthday. While Hritik chose a voguish black suit, Saba was also dressed in black in a Zara cut-out strappy dress which she accessorized with multiple gold jewels and a gold clutch. Talk about serving looks!

 

Kajol 

While KJo's birthday witnessed numerous movie reunions, one that really had us pumped was the Fanaa cast reuniting after 16 years! Looking gorgeous as always, Kajol showed up dressed in a henna-green dress featuring sparkling accents and an interesting drape and sheer detail on the side. 

 

Rani Mukherjee

What Rani wore was a blingtastic black mini dress. She further upped the glitz quotient and layered the dress with a sequinned jacket and completed her look with a mini black handbag and a pair of matching heels. As for her glam game, she rocked a glowing base that was accentuated with beaming highlighter, pink blush, nude lips and dramatic winged eyeliner that had us floored!

 

 

Sidharth Malhotra 

At Karan Johar's birthday bash, it was truly raining men in black! The Shershaah actor truly made a statement in a black diagonal oxidized gold bugle bead structured jacket paired with a quilted yoke shirt paired with slim black trousers and a velvet bow tie!

 

Tabu

A tieless icon, Tabu looked ethereal in a classic blue sequin saree by Manish Malhotra with a strappy backless blouse, silver drop earrings, all completed with her light makeup and long flowy hair. 

 

Rajkumar Rao

Never one to shy away from showing up to occasion in a dapper outfit, Rajkumar Rao looked handsome in a Gaurav Gupta ensemble. The added embellished details on the blazer were just the cheery on top!

 

Madhuri Dixit

Looking absolutely fire was Madhuri Dixit who graced the occasion with a statement outfit. The starlet wore a Manish Malhotra outfit, which included a waisted tailored trouser embellished with hues of purple and blue sequins and a corset constructed shirt with dramatic floor-length cape sleeves. 

 

Sonali Bendre

Every time Sonali Bendre shows up to an event, her outfit and everything else she pairs it with look downright stunning. Looking like an elegant Goddess, Bendre wore a Falguni Shane Peacock India suit with delicate fringe details. She kept it simple with open curls and minimal jewellery, looking like an absolute icon!

 

Raveena Tandon

Though Raveena Tandon rarely makes such grandoise appearances, we were truly happy to see the KGF2 actor in full glam! Raveena Tandon was bling personified in her stylish dark green sequin dress which were paired with a set of diamond earrings and a short necklace. The more bling, the better!

 

Tiger Shroff

The Heropanti 2 actor kept it simple in a black pantsuit and a plain white shirt where he left a few extra buttons open. Effortless and chic, Tiger Shroff looked very handsome in his fit. 

 

Ritesh Deshmukh & Genelia Deshmukh

Bringing their A Game to the birthday bash were Ritsh Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh. While Ritesh wore a fabulous black tuxedo by Rohit Bal with embroidered floral detail on the sides, Genelia dressed up in a unique princess-cut corset dress by Samant Chauhan.

 

Gauri Khan

All glory, all glimmer, Gauri Khan looked like the Queen at KJo's 50th birthday in a gold geometrical pattern, sequin shirt dress with a wrap around embroidered belt, all designed by the amazing Manish Malhotra! Paired with a bronze makeup look, open curls and a pair of studded gold pumps, Gauri Khan was nothing short of a stunner!

 

Mouni Roy & Suraj Nambiar

The newlyweds showed up looking dapper in their designer fits. Mouni Roy wore a nude toned, strapless Tran Hung dress with a thigh high slit which was covered in sequins embroidery from top to bottom of floral motifs. Mouni's beau, Suraj, on the other hand, picked a simple yet elegant tuxedo, all complete with a waistcoat and bow tie. 

 

Ayushmann Khurrana & Tahira Kashyap Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana & Tahira Kashyap surely know how to slay outfits in style!  The couple twinned in black for Karan Johar's birthday bash with Ayushmann in a black suit without a shirt and a thick chain around his neck, while Tahira wore a gorgeous black bodycon dress by Shantanu Nikhil.

 

Neha Dhupia & Angad Bedi

Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi showed up looking like a power couple as always. Neha was styled in a black gown with statement shoulders from 431-88 by Shweta Kapur, whereas Angad wore a black tuxedo with an ornately designed corner by Gaurav Gupta.
