Guys, time and again, we have told you that 2018 is proving to be the year of breaking stereotypes in the wedding scene. Brides are ditching traditional red lehengas for the most unique hues; quintessential phoolon ki chaadars are being replaced by decorated umbrellas; brides are experimenting with chooda more than ever before; the mantra ‘less is more’ is surprisingly ruling the Indian weddings - and the list is endless. But wait, we are not done yet!
A groom recently took this ‘break the stereotype game’ a notch above by donning an Anaarkali ensemble on Mehendi ceremony and our minds are absolutely blown. The groom, Vishrut wore a yellow-colored Anarkali and carried an offbeat look with sheer grace. Picked from the esteemed racks of designer Anju Modi, Vishrut’s ensemble was an overlapped-style Anarkali with a significant flare. To level up the entire look, he paired his attire with a light-pink dupatta and neatly set it on the shoulder.

Also, why should brides do all the twirl?

Well, the trend of men’s flared silhouettes dates back to the Mughal Era when rulers like Akbar used do wear such ensembles. However, all thanks to our ultimate fashion father Ranveer Singh, who brought back this style with the film Bajirao Mastani.
In fact, Anarkali-like flared outfits have been a popular choice among grooms too. But most of them pair it up with a Bandhgala jacket.

But Vishrut went quirky all the way! He not only chose a vibrant yellow shade for his Anarkali outfit and paired it up with a dupatta but also kept the charm of an Anarkali intact by not wearing any jacket over it.
