If you want to bypass the “I wish I had this differently” part every bride goes through after her wedding, we suggest you become a wedding planner or marry one (*wink*). After all, post so much experience planning others’ weddings to the T, it’s hard to not perfect one’s own! Working your own wedding has a charm of its own & so was the case with Aashna, a wedding designer and planner by profession, who put her skills to use for her own destination wedding in Goa and it was straight out of a fairy-tale, captured with love by The Photo Diary & Pahul Khurana!
By ditching the “trends” and following her heart, she along with her team from Aash Studio (her baby), curated a wedding putting their heart into it. Personalization was her mantra and you could bet it worked like magic!
We're sure you must have gotten the tropical & beachy vibes as we said "Destination Wedding in Goa" & so was her wedding invitation designed by Krisha Seth.

Colourful & Chic Mehndi With a Bride in Floral Lehenga
The theme for the decor was kept colourful and chic with hanging candles, flowers and a quirky mini bar. The venue was decorated with colossal flowers in the shades of pinks and purples. Every detail in the decor was delicately curated, whether it was couple initials on coconut water or artificial fruits hanging on a centrepiece. The concept was based around fruits and flowers (tropical) that started from the wedding card, from custom printed cushion's fabric used to drape the truss.

Glitzy & Glamourous Disco Themed Sangeet
The Sangeet ceremony was surely a happening one. Aashna totally slayed in a grey embellished lehenga. The decor was all about 200 disco balls and glass floor with dreamy fairy lights that added that required drop of magic to the setup. The ‘kissing booth’ was set up as a photo booth for the guests which added a cutesy touch to the décor.

The Wedding Day
"The most special day for me", exclaimed the bride. The mandap was a cove of branches filled with red roses. Instead of having the wedding in the garden they decided to create it coming up from the sea in order to give an illusion of a floating mandap. Aashna looked all bits of a princess in a wedding lehenga designed by her Mom, Seema Singh.

About The Wedding Planning
By working in the wedding industry, Aashna easily skipped the “I wish someone had told me this earlier” part that every bride goes through! “The wedding planning was a well thought out process. All the functions were planned well in advance since it was a destination wedding. Being a wedding planner was an added advantage as we were aware of all the challenges that come with planning,” said the proud owner of Aash Studio.
After much deliberation, they finally chose Grand Hyatt, Goa as their wedding venue since it ticked all the right boxes on their list.

Things to keep in mind while finalizing your wedding outfits
Being a decorator, she knows how important it is to keep the wedding decor in sync with your bridal looks. For her, she wanted to adorn different colours at different functions and wanted the decor to be so. For the dainty pre mehndi celebration, the bride wore a delicate tasselled blouse with frilled skirt, totally in sync with the decor. For the actual mehndi she wanted something floral and pretty so she kept the decor very fresh and tropical. For the sangeet, she wanted something glitzy and with a lot of silver so disco balls did the trick and she adorned a silver embellished lehenga. For the wedding she wanted to be the bride who wore red and made sure she donned red roses in her hairstyle, matching the red-branched decor.
Hence, maintaining a harmony between your outfits and the decor can play a very important role in the entire execution of your wedding.
