"You don't love someone because of their looks or their clothes or their car. You love them because they sing a song only your heart can understand.” - L.J. Smith

We often talk about how certain people are just meant to happen. And it is a notion we not only believe in but also stick by. After all, there is an invisible thread that connects us to certain people in our lives, which helps us find our way back to them, regardless of time, place or circumstances. Such stories, which culminated into fabulously stunning weddings, are what excite us the most!

One such fairytale romance is of Saima & Aayush, who went on strong for 7 years before finally tieing the knot in 2020. It's stories like these that add the much-needed happiness into 2020, which in general hasn't been that great a year for anyone. Rest aside, Saima and Aayush's wedding is a glitzy and studded affair amplifying their (and ours, alike!) love for everything whimsical!

Introducing The Wonderful Wedding Of #SaimaSoniHai in Chandigarh

Aayush and Saima had known each other since their school days. However, the duo lost touch during their college years, after which they both went to very different parts of the world- he moved to Mumbai while she moved to Singapore. But fate is known to work in mysterious ways. So, it wasn't really surprising to the universe when the two of them bumped into each other at a Christmas Party in 2012 in their hometown. Soon after exchanging numbers, the duo started talking and nothing was ever the same for them. Having dated each other for 7 whooping years now (out of which 6 were long distance!), the couple finally got engaged in March 2019 and then tied the knot in 2020, a year later.

Saima and Aayush's gorgeous Chandigarh wedding was based around the concept of 'Flora & Fauna'. The couple's dedication to their theme was evident from the tree saplings they sent out with every invitation they sent. For the couple, it was about inspiring people to do something good for the environment and plant those trees

"Since I am an Interior Designer," Saima revealed, "My focus wasn't just the functionality of every event, but the visual appeal of each function as well."

Thus, keeping in mind her perspective and ideas around the theme, Saima collaborated with the wonderful Events by Experts Decorators who helped bring her ideas to life through their gorgeous decor elements. In fact, her outfits for every function were also designed in a way to reflect the theme of each event!

'The Enchanted Forest' Cocktail Party

The cocktail party was themed 'The Enchanted Forest'. Thus, the entire venue was lined with extremely unique elements such as hanging plants, OTT chandeliers and a green backdrop against the DJ's console, along with whimsical LED signs to add a magical touch to the entire event. For this function, Saima wore a stunning red gown by Ritu Kumar while her beau chose a grey suit to fit best with his bride.

Bohemian Mehndi

Saima's Mehndi function had a very chilled out yet colourful 'Bohemian vibe' to it. It was a melange of colours, with both formal and elegant elements mixed with more laidback and casual elements to match the 'Whimsical Haven' theme she had planned out with gouache colours, floral work and mirror elements! For her mehndi, the bride wowed us in a fabulous tie & dye skirt with mirror work along with a mirror work blouse to match her outfit y Akanksha Gajria, while the groom looked handsome in a blue kurta paired with a floral jacket, ensuring that both the bride and groom channelled the right energy and vibe of the theme!

The Wedding Day With Breathtaking Decor!

The highlight of the entire celebration was the main wedding (obviously!). The bride walked down to her mandap in a gorgeous lehenga by Rimple & Harpreet Narula which was adorned with embroidery work depicting various trees, plants and animal motifs, staying true to their overall 'Flora & Fauna' theme. The groom, on the other hand, dressed in an off white sherwani with a white and gold safa to compliment his bride in the best way possible.

The wedding ceremony's decor was what captivated most of us, thanks to the natural appeal and aesthetics of the wedding venue, The Hermitage Farms. The entire landscape was covered in a lush green landscape, with natural water bodies and the backdrop of the nearby low lying hills. Plus, adding to its existing charm, the decorators added a mirror studded Unicorn structure at the entrance, which was specially brought in from Rajasthan, making it unique and beautiful in every sense and aspect. Furthermore, the mandap for the bride and groom was set over a water body, with gorgeous crystals and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, giving the facade a look as if it was floating over water!
