Sabyasachi's Latest Winter Bridal Collection 2019 'Charbagh'

As the progressive designer unfolds, 'Charbagh, four gardens of blooms nourished by one source, is a bridal collection that talks about four distinct trends or sensibilities, making room for every bride’s dreams.' The eponymous collection is a perfect showcase of earthy, traditional, subdued and embellished sensibilities and is therefore split into four major collections: Isfahan, Chowk, Nargis and The Devi.

Isfahan

Inspired by the depth in the melancholic hues of Islamic Art, Isfahan is a collection comprising of royal costumes that are a combination of velvets, organzas, muslins and mul mul. In this particular collection, Sabyasachi tries to bring back the mid and half tone colours and introduce them into the 2019 wedding palette. While Indian purple is replaced by a faded jamun, fuchsia gives way to pomegranate, and bright feroza comes shrouded in layers of patina. The outfits are further prettified with decadent zardozi in gold and silver, with tiny specks of mina in silk floss.

Chowk

The Chowk is deeply rooted to rural textiles. It is for the brides who are far far away from influences and choose to express themselves in the most authentic and honest manner. The collection features a myriad of experimental hues and distinctive patterns. Other than that, prominent elements like plunging necklines and jacket-style blouses were smartly infused in this collection.

Nargis

Drenched in both vivid and subtle hues accompanied with a plethora of blooms, outfits from the Nargis collection are par excellence. Whether it is the scintillating ivory lehenga, the popping yellow ensemble or the one in a striking peacock teal hue, each one is hauntingly beautiful.

The Devi

To cater to the dreams of brides wanting to wear an ideal red lehenga on their big day, Sabyasachi curated this exquisite collection 'the Devi' that featured all sorts of red bridal lehengas, from minimal to heavier ones. Making revelations about naming the collection so, the designer writes, 'Most girls' families have almost always remarked that when the bride steps out of the changing room wearing a red lehenga for the first thing, they look like a goddess. And hence the name Devi.'
