India’s most prestigious Fashion show, a 5-day long extravagance "Lakme Fashion Week" concluded on 25th August ’19 and how can we not pick our favourite ensembles for you guys. It's a ritual! Also, we just cannot keep ourselves away from those glimmering lehengas and off-beat silhouettes, so we just need reasons to ogle at the gorgeous collections.

Our all-time favourite designers, as well as some new GenX Haute couture designers, showcased their hottest collections on the Ramp of Lakme Fashion Week '19 which was hosted at the St.Regis, Mumbai and it was one helluva show!

Here's a quick rundown of ensembles that we feel are a hit for this Wedding Season. And believe us, they are all a sight for sore eyes!

Our Favorite Picks from Lakme Fashion Week 2019

Anushree Reddy 

The young and talented designer showcased her Winter/Festive 2019 collection ‘Gulaal’ at the LFW’19. Her collection was an amalgamation of traditional embroidery and contemporary elements in its cuts.

For Anushree Reddy, Debutant Anaya Panday wore a gorgeous ivory lehenga with pearl and katdana detailing with a statement choker neck piece and a Zari duppta and it was just WOW!

Arpita Mehta

Arpita Mehta’s Gorgeous collection ‘Trent Tradition’ was perfect for wedding festivities. ‘Trent tradition’ had an eccentric eye-catchy color palate with a nouveau aesthetic. Colors like powder pink, raspberry pink and pineapple yellow stood out and dominated her collection. Exclusive fabrics like organza, crepe silk and silk georgette looked astonishing on the ramp and would be a major trend setter for this wedding season!

Ananya Pandey wore heavily embellished pink lehenga with big flower motifs at the hem and v-neckline sleeveless blouse paired with gold statement bangles and smoky eyes. 

Bandana Narula   

It was the first time for Designer Bandana Narula at the LFW this year. Her Debut collection ‘Dazva’ consisted of different sizes of chevron stripes with minimal embroidery in pastel tones. 'Dazva' was pret-wear collection with silk textures giving an indo western feel to the whole collection, it also had beautiful chic drapes, smart skirts with western influence and stylized sarees.. 

Bollywood actor and singer, Shibani Dandekar walked the ramp for the designer as the showstopper wearing a floral corset with a chevron stripes lehenga. Shibani Dandekar accessorized her look with a statement choker and cornrow braids. She looks nothing less than a modern-day princess!

Disha Patil 

Disha Patil’s‘The Interpretation of Love’ was an occasion wear collection which had motifs and patterns of perisan rugs woven into the garments. Origami drapes accentuate the neckline and shoulder region. Colours like powder blue, teal, ivory and peach were spotted on the ramp.

The bold and beautiful Kangna Ranaut closed the show for the designer. She looked mesmerizing in wearing a powder blue embellished lehenga-choli with a one-sided extended shoulder drape and looked mesmerising . This ensemble should be a must for all the future brides out there! 

Gauri & Nainika 

The dynamic-duo showcased their collection which had a victorian era inspired vibe to it. The collection consisted of evening gowns, skirts and jumpsuits with 3-D floral motifs, embellishments and frills in solid colours. Fabrics like Organza and Silk taffeta dominated the duo’s collection. These outfits are gorgeous for cocktail or a reception function!

Closing the Designer-Duo was Kareena Kapoor Khan who wore a gorgeous matte black layered gown of silk and net, she completed the look with bold black lip colour staying true to this seasons Lakme theme. 

Jayanti Reddy 

Jayanti Reddy’s 'Benares and Beyond' showcased a strong sense of innovation, elegance and style. Her collection had Gorgeous scalloped Hemlines, lace belts and mirror work with intricate embroidery. Experimenting with the blouses, there were plunging V-necklines, while the backless cholis with excessive layering and tassels added drama and taste.

The sensational Pooja Hegde was her muse on the ramp and she just took our breath away giving us major trend-setting goals! Pooja was seen in a purple lehenga which was heavily embellished throughout with a knotted up blouse with a fully embellished duppata. 

Manish Malhotra 

Legendary and our all time favorite couturier Manish Malhotra showcased his latest collection ‘Maahrumysha’ at the Lakme Fashion Week. The latest collection by the designer is crafted for lighter occasions to the destination weddings in colours ranging from classic chromes of white, ivory, beige, ochre, grey, salmon and the signature gold of the label. It was an inspiration for every bride and gave us some of our favourites for the season! 

Katrina Kaif kick-started the fashion show by walking on the ramp on the opening day of the week-long event wearing a black lehenga with intricate gold embroidery.

Payal Singhal 

Ace designer, Payal Singhal celebrated 20 years in the fashion industry and showcased her latest collection ‘PS20’ on Day 2 of the LFW. Her collection was insipred form bohemia and gypsies using fabrics like orgaza, tulle and crepe making it apt for day functions and destination weddings. It's Perfect for the modern Indian Bride and her Bride Squad! 

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar were the designer's muse as they walked the ramp hand in hand at the fashion week. Shibani looked stunning in a bohemian-inspired lehenga teamed up with a jacket with tassles on the sleeves.

Punit Balana 

Designer, Punit Balana launched his collection called “Rabari” which was an ode to textiles and embroidery done by the Rabari women. There were Bandhani for lehengas, saris, kaftans, trapeze top with skinny pants and jacket teamed with a full-flared skirt and shirt in bright yellow colour. ‘Rabari’ a very chic and hassle free collection overall having a very soothing impact on us!

 Shetty turned showstopper for the show. She dazzled the ramp was wearing a shimmery (above the knee) lehenga with a mirror work halter choli.

Rajdeep Ranawat

Designer Rajdeep Ranawat showcased his ‘Sindh’ collection on day five of the Lakme Fashion Week. His collection was inspired by Victorian vintage costumes and French renaissance movies, Rajdeep Ranawat’s “Sindh” collection was a fantasy of colours, fabrics, designs and glamour, The prints were a mélange of hues so striking that when studded with Swarovski crystals with lacquer finish the ensembles were a visual treat for the senses. ‘Sindh’ collection is perfect for print savvy bride-groom who have a nomadic side to them too! 

Ridhi Mehra 

Ridhi Mehra showcased her latest collection ‘An Ode to Heirlooms’ on the third day of the fashion gala. Her new collection had a contemporary twist, showcasing the Indian sophistication, that celebrates intricate craftsmanship of different cultural aesthetics. the designer showcased a trio of ikat, bohemian and Kashmiri aesthetics. There was the exotic play of embellishments mixed with beautiful aari work.

The beautiful Diana Penty was Ridhi Mehra’s muse, she wore an intricately, embroidered, ivory dazzling sequined lehenga, sheer striped blouse and dupatta with beads that captivated us!

Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna

Day Four at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 ended with the grand “Interstellar” collection by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. The duo’s collection showcased hues of black and grey. The collection saw extravagant lush fabrics like organza, silks and tulles. Interstellar flamboyant ensembles are just perfect for cocktails and reception.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Disha Patani walked the ramp for the designer duo in a glitzy attire perfect for this wedding season! 

Sunaina Khera

Sunaina Khera’s beautiful collection ‘Dear Mom’ was a tribute to her mother. It was a fashionable parade on the ramp. She showcased different delicate fabrics like organza, tulles and crepe which enhanced the beauty of the ensembles. Her collection is a perfect fit for Sangeet/Sagan ceremonies or an after-party encompassing colours ranging from pink, burgundy, beige and motifs of lilies, roses and cherry blossoms. Her collection was an elegant affair and one of our favourites!
