How often do we witness brides going out and bold with their sartorial choices especially for their main ceremonies like the mehndi or wedding? Very rare right? Well, that's because of a simple reason that there are not many examples encouraging the brides to experiment with silhouettes and colors. If you too are a bride who is most likely to pick a yellow, orange or a green lehenga for your mehndi ceremony, we would like to divert you a bit and trust us you're gonna love it. We're called the trend-ringers for a reason!
Nothing makes us happier than unveiling new silhouettes and colors that break the stereotypicality of the Indian wedding ceremonies. Introducing you to a bride-cum-designer, Pratishtha Rikhy, founder of Pratishtha - The Label. She designed & styled her Mehndi look in a totally off-beat color and believe us when we say, we were head-over-heels the minute we laid at eyes at her. Wait until you see her!
Bride Pratishtha's High-on-Glam Mehndi Look
The electrifying Bride
Surpassing any rules of wearing pinks, yellows or greens for the Mehendi ceremony we're left in constant awe of how Pratishtha wore a bold electric blue outfit. She beautifully rocked the crop-top, palazzo pants & cape look with chunky earrings, maangtikka, delicately braided hair, and a 'No-makeup' makeup look.

What completely got our attention (also is the highlight of the outfit) is her blouse design. Intricately embroidered with light & turquoise blue threadwork and sequins, her choli definitely made it to our wishlist for the next wedding we attend.

Describing her Mehendi look, the bride connotes,
For my Mehendi look, I wanted a more comfortable and modern look which is still vibrant and bright. Hence, I went ahead with a nice Electric Blue and paired it with shades of blue for the embroideries. Crop top and Palazzo was an absolute savior for this day as it was super comfy and yet made the look stylish. I paired my outfit with some Fooljadi (Gota) jewelry which was also customized for me in shades of blue and pink to compliment the whole look. The outfit was designed and created by me under my label, Pratishtha - The Label.

Sisters before Misters
Taking the "Sister of the Bride Game" a notch above is, Purbsha. Clad in an easy-breezy pale green lehenga with gold embelishments also deisgned by her sister (the bride), Purbsha looked absolutely stunning as a bridesmaid. She enhanced her look with long chandelier earrings and a dainty maangtikka. And oh, don't miss out on that pretty hairdo!

Some Hearty Moments with the Parents
Girls, no matter what, make sure you get a lot of photos clicked with your parents. Since they'll be constantly occupied with most of the ceremonies and guests, it's best to steal them during smaller ceremonies like Mehendi or Haldi & strike a pose (of course, don't forget the wedding too).
What's not to love about these blissful & hearty moments with the parents? They nailed the glam quotient too! After all, their daughter (the bride) designed their wedding ensembles too.

Describing further about her Mehendi Day Pratishta quotes,
For the decor, I had a strict budget and the function was taking place at home, but I also did not want to compromise and just go with genda phools. I came across Rudhirs work (Design My Wedding) and absolutely loved it for its simplicity and vibrancy. I wanted an overall pink and blue ombre look for my Mehendi and he helped me achieve that with the decor completely. Rudhir was thoroughly professional and worked around my budget, the results were beautiful and I was 100% satisfied with my mehendi decor.
The photography is done by Simran (Beginnings for You). This girl is absolute magic, she knows how to put life into pictures. She covered my sister's wedding and had to cover mine as well owing to her wonderful work.
