“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr Seuss

While every wedding story is beautiful, some carry a festive vibe that is the ideal celebration of their union. Such are the stories we often come back to and love talking about. Mehak Dhawan and Rumit Khullar's wedding is the ideal example of a gorgeous intimate wedding that was quaint yet beautifully charming in every way possible.

Check out this bride and groom's beautiful Delhi wedding below, captured by the very talented Studio Bir!

Introducing Mehak & Rumit

"Rumit and I have dated for 4 years," Mehak reveals, "We met through a common friend and came from two very different professions. Him an investment banker and I an Anchor who hosted live shows."

Though from absolutely different niches, both Mehak and Rumit shared some very similar aspirations, "It felt like destiny. We shared a divine connection and falling in love was just natural."

While dating, Rumit and Mehak had decided to get married long ago. However, they finally decided to tie the knot in April 2021 after growing in their respective careers.

The couple's wedding aka #RUGotME took place in New Delhi, with their functions scattered across various luxurious venues including The Leela Palace, Orana Arnum and The Lodhi

Mehendi Ceremony

Taking place at the Orana Arnum, the mehendi was an intimate ceremony with a floral themed vibe to it. Mehak stepped out for her mehendi ceremony in a gorgeous green organza saree with floral print by Sabyasachi along with a choker, square jhumkis and floral haathphools. Rumit, on the other hand, chose to keep it simple yet elegant with a white kurta with sequin embroidery.

Ring Ceremony

The couple's ring ceremony took place at The Leela Palace. For this function, Mehak chose a stunning red floral lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani which she paired with a long veil trail. She also added a chunky polki and emerald choker and earrings along with a stunning passa and a statement emerald ring. Rumit, contrastingly, chose a black bandhgala with light silver embroidery and a red pocket square.

Haldi Ceremony

For her haldi ceremony, Mehak dressed up in a beautiful yellow outfit by Anita Dongre with the designer's signature threat embroidery along with a no-makeup look and straight open hair, keeping the look simple yet stunning.

Wedding Ceremony

#RUGotME couple's anand karaj ceremony took place at the Pahadiwala Gurudwara in Greater Kailash. The bride dressed up in a jaw-dropping lehenga by Roop Vatika in an underlying shade of brown with multi-coloured embroidery and prints. She finished her look with a combination of minimal and OTT jewellery elements with a glowly, blushed makup look and a floral bun. Rumit, similarly, chose a a heavily embroidered off white sherwani with a baby pink safa and stole.
