Planning a wedding amid a pandemic is like getting on a crazy roller-coaster ride. Especially when your wedding venue is changed barely a month before the actual wedding day!

Krishna and Rohil, who tied the knot just around the onset of the second wave of the virus in India, had a similar wobbling experience. From last moment venue changes to creating their dream wedding, Krishna and Rohil's wedding was a memorable affair with gorgeous decor and a bride dressed in exquisite designer attires. Plus, Krishna's bridal entry is one worth being bookmarked. Scroll down to check out the couple Aamby Valley City wedding, captured beautifully by Knotting Bells!

Introducing Krishna & Rohil

"First-year of junior college back in 2011, I saw him for the very first time and I remember this so vividly," Krishan recalls, "Rohil was in beige shorts, a lilac shirt and blue sneakers. And before I knew it, I was already crushing on this guy."

Even though Krishna was a bit reluctant to approach Rohil at first, thanks to a really good college friend, she finally met him. And that was how their story began! Having been together for 10 years now, the two were love-locked in a little bubble of their own, viewing life individually, but experiencing it together as well.

The #RoForKrish wedding was a close-knit affair with just 25 guests that took place at the Aamby Valley City in the summer of 2021 on the outskirts of Mumbai. With an intimate wedding party and a beautiful venue spread over acres of land, this duo made the absolute best of the arduous situation during the second wave of the virus in India.

Shrey Bhagat, Co-founder at Knotting Bells expressed, “It was an absolutely humbling experience to work with this Krishna Shah and her father. Seeing the lengths to which a father would go for his daughter was awe-inspiring for all of us. While Aamby Valley City can accommodate over 5000 guests, we celebrated this matrimony with just 25 attendees. Right from testing before the wedding to sanitation protocols, everything was followed to the T irrespective of how many people were going to be present, how elaborate the decor would be, and how large the venue was. And a combination of all of this was what led to Krishna being able to live her dream wedding, something that’s beautifully been captured in our photographs from the festivities.

Even though photographing and experiencing this wedding was absolutely magical, we did face some challenges with regards to the bride and groom, guests, and events all being at different locations at one time. But I believe that the most enjoyable aspect for us as a team is emerging stronger from all of these difficulties and issues. I think that it’s one of the first times someone has photographed such an intimate yet grand wedding, and will definitely be one for our books.”

Save the Date Party

For their glam 'Save the Date' party, the couple dressed up in designer outfits and walked around the venue in full swagger. Krishna chose a blush winged saree paired with a moulded three-dimensional hand-embroidered blouse by Amit Aggarwal. Whereas Rohil Shah dressed up in an eye-pleasing mauve 3 peice suit by Govind Mehta.

Lagan Lakhvanu

The lagan lakhvanu was the first ritual of the wedding. Minimalistic, fresh and full of light, this ceremony had all the elements to create the perfect Indian decor atmosphere. Krishna looked like a blooming flower in a beautiful Rimple & Harpreet Narula lehenga in shades of pinks and reds with light makeup and floral hairdo for the function.

Mehendi

The mehendi was a beautifully designed ceremony, with a stunning flower bar that was full of buckets of different kinds of flowers- a concept that was really close to Krishna's heart. Donning a stunning green Sabyasachi lehenga from one of the designer's boho collections, Krishna looked lovely with flowing open cirls and light makeup.

Mandap Pooja

For the mandap pooja, Krishna chose a mint green Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga with the designer's signature white embroidery. She finished the look with a delicate combination of flushed cheeks and nude lips along with a fancy fishtail braid, embellished with dragonflies and purple gypsos!

Sangeet

For the sangeet ceremony, the couple ditched the traditional stage in favor of a central dance floor. The ceremony was a safari-themed disco night, with retro elements with a touch of flora. Krishna dressed up in a pretty white lehenga by Kresha Bajaj while Rohil contrasted with her in a black thread embroidered bandhgala.

Haldi

The haldi was another gorgeous affair with Krishna looking ethereal in Camel twig Lehenga set with cowrie shell detailing by Arpita Mehta while Rohil opted to keep it simple in an off-white khadi kurta-payjama.

Wedding

For the wedding, the couple decided to keep things traditional but with a contemporary twist. Thus, they had the temple structure covered in pastel carnations, hydrangeas, gipsies & lots of foliage. Krishna wore a tantalising pastel pink Anamika Khanna lehenga, heavy with embroidery, while Rohil looked dapper in an embroidered off-white Govind Mehta sherwani. Apart from the beautifully designed wedding ceremony, another element that won us over was Krishna's bridal entry where she crossed the lake on a decorated ferry to reach the mandap, a sight that brought tears to Rohil's eyes.
