Karva Chauth Lookbook

1. Alia Bhatt White Saree Look

There is no such thing as too much white in Alia Bhatt’s sartorial lineup. Her wardrobe is a testimony to the versatility of the six-yard. Though the hue stays constant, one can’t possibly ignore the uniqueness of the conversational patterns, ornate embroidery, plush fabrics and riotous prints. Bhatt’s choices of Indian handlooms serve as proof that a saree is indeed a thoughtful investment for one’s capsule wardrobe and can be draped in various fun ways and paired with all-eyes-on-me blouses that will help you create a unique look each time. This particular look pairs a white Jamdani saree with statement earrings, a sleek bun, minimal makeup and a pair of beige high heels. To recreate this look, pick the following items:

2. Mira Kapoor's Blush Anarkali

Over the years, Mira Kapoor has become a style icon. Donning only the best silhouettes, Kapoor has inspired us umpteen times with her looks for the festive season. One such pick of hers is this blush anarkali by Ridhi Mehra. Mira’s outfit, Posie, is a beautiful silk ruched Anarkali drenched in a lovely light onion pink hue. The bodice is delicately embroidered with floral threadwork. The look is completed with a net dupatta. Instead of loading up on chunky jewels, Mira Rajput Kapoor wore just a pair of statement Chand Bali earrings to accessorise her Ridhi Mehra anarkali. Soft makeup in neutral tones and a small bindi made for her beautiful look.

3. Aditi Rao Hydari's Red Silk Saree

If you are looking to level up your classic saree game, take cues from this classic red creation that has earned Aditi Rao Hydari’s nod of approval. From Kanjeevaram silks to handwoven chanderis,  Aditi Rao Hydari’s love for sarees is nothing if not obvious. A while ago, the starlet showcased her preference for sarees in a gorgeous Gaurang Shah's crimson silk piece. Her handwoven silk saree is accented with patterns of beautiful peacocks on its gold zari border. She further went with a multi-coloured brocade blouse by Madhulika Kapilavayi to round it off. Featuring a sweetheart neckline with a contrasting green border, her blouse’s three-quarter sleeves were crafted with panels of yellow, green and red brocade with small floral buttis.

4. Katrina Kaif's Jade Green Saree

Whether it’s a lehenga or a gown, Katrina Kaif has time and again veered towards ensembles from Sabyasachi. The actor even relied on the couturier in December 2021 when she married Vicky Kaushal. From her bridal pastel sari to classic ones, Kaif particularly has had a number of not-so-basic drapes up her sleeve. Recently, she took her saree look up a notch by donning a see-through tulle version. In a stunning jade green tone, the sari was accented with small sequinned buttis and contrasted with splashes of pink as floral motifs. With an open hairdo and smoky eyes, she had the glamorous red carpet-ready vibe down pat. A sultry saree and strappy blouse, like Kaif’s, is all you need for your Karva Chauth celebration. Instead of the tried-and-tested blush pinks and ivories, jade green is a splendid option to consider. Round it off with metallic heels, and you’re good to go. Love her look? Scroll now to shop for a similar sari and accessories for yourself to recreate Kaif’s look like a total pro.

5. Rakul Preet Singh's Scintillating Red Saree

Be it western wear or ethnic, Rakul Preet Singh has always kept her fashion game on point. Rakul's outfit choices have received well-deserved appreciation from her fans. This time the actor opted for a gorgeous red saree from ace designer Ritu Kumar and looked enthralling. The red saree had a delicate print with patti border and embroidery in golden. She teamed the saree with a deep neck blouse that had short sleeves in a similar pattern, print and colour. For accessories, the actor wore traditional earrings and bangles and opted for a neat bun which she adorned with a floral garland. Rakul kept her makeup minimal with subtle eye makeup and glossy lip tint. If this isn't your Karva Chauth look, you're missing out majorly.

6. Ananya Pandey's Pink Printed Lehenga

With autumn winds finally hitting us, we're all looking for ensembles that inspire a bit more joy than usual. That's where florals come in. From paisleys to peonies, pleasant blooms will brighten up the gloom that’s often associated with rainy and cold and will also add a sense of playfulness to any Karva Chauth. Ananya Panday recently donned a gorgeous Torani lehenga for Umang Police Awards 2022. Like any other classic Torani look, this lehenga isn’t a fussy performance. And even though Ananya wore this garment which has stories of Indian craft painted all over it, she made it fun, fuss-free and sexy. Style a similar outfit with open curls, big dangling earrings and a statement ring. And for a more festive touch, add a small bindi to your look!

7. Sonam Kapoor's Chikankari Anarkali-Lehenga

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is THE style icon of Bollywood. Every time we're creating lookbooks for the season, we turn to her Instagram feed to inspire us. Like her, chose a stunning cream and gold chikankari outfit to celebrate your Karva Chauth. The outfit, which featured a layered anarkali with a lehenga and matching dupatta, personified Kapoor’s style in every way. Featuring a peephole at the neckline for a touch of sexiness, the full-sleeved embroidered anarkali-lehenga ensemble was the ideal choice for the intimate winter Diwali celebration. With her hair neatly slicked back in a low bun and subtle makeup with a smokey eye—she finished the look off with gorgeous Kundan earrings and a Kundan headpiece.

8. Parineeti Chopra's Ombre Blue Sequin Saree

Parineeti Chopra is not often seen in ethnic wear, save for the festive season, but whenever she does show up in such silhouettes, she does them full justice. The blue sequin saree by Manish Malhotra came with a matching sleeveless blouse and lots of shimmer and shine. Parineeti Chopra kept her look simple and effortless as she styled her blue ombre sequin saree with small hoops, subtle makeup and middle-parted straight hair. Our favourite part was the lack of jewellery around her neck yet the presence of tiny hoop earrings made this look even more glam than usual.

The actress has always been a diva when it comes to her fashion choices. And this time, she is acing the vibrant yellow as she notches up her festive fashion. 10. Rashmika Mandanna

If you’ve been on the fence about wearing gold to your special occasion, Rashmika Mandanna will surely convince you otherwise. In September 2022, the actor opted for a gold lehenga by Sawan Gandhi, consisting of a sexy sleeveless blouse, a voluminous skirt and a dupatta. What makes this look even more special is the fact that instead of a sheathed sequinned lehenga, it is an ombré oxidised gold lehenga! Further adding some texture and dimension to the set is the jaal dupatta, which is enhanced by hand embroidery. Since her lehenga was statement-making in itself, Mandanna skipped chunky necklaces and simply opted for a pair of earrings by Joolry. Considering the humidity in the air, she kept her hair styled in a ponytail, but kept the makeup glamorous with soft smoky eyes, highlighted cheeks and rose pink lip colour.

11. Alia Bhatt's Red Banarasi Anarkali

If there is anything we love more than a lehenga, it is a timeless red Anarkali. Alia Bhatt was seen in a gorgeous red Banarasi Anarkali set that literally broke the internet. The lovely ensemble with golden detailing all across and a matching brocade dupatta is something every bride must have in her wardrobe. The ensemble was from Ekaya Banaras and Alia finished off the look with heavy-gold jadau earrings from Raniwala and gold chappals from Stoffa Style. She kept her make-up simple and opted for a bronze look, neat full eyebrows and nude lip colour. Her hair looked lovely as she went for a ponytail and a middle parting. She finished off her look with a classic tiny black bindi.
