How to Reach Hauz Khas

To reach Hauz Khas and the Village area, you can either travel by metro, bus or cab. The nearest metro station is the Hauz Khas metro station on the yellow line and magenta line. From the metro station, the Hauz Khas market and Sri Aurobindo Marg are within walking distance. For Hauz Khas Village, you can either take an auto or rickshaw. The Delhi airport is situated nearly around 10 km from Hauz Khas. On the other hand, the nearest railway station is Nizamuddin railway station, which is located approximately 6.55 km from here. 🍲 Social: One of the most famous cafes/pubs of Hauz Khas and the entire Delhi, Social is a chain of the most aesthetic cafes in Delhi NCR and other cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune. You will love everything at this eatery, from the most delicious platters, twisted drinks, and cocktails to uniquely designed interiors.

🍲The Tea Room by Blossom Kochchar: You must have checked this café in your Instagram reel suggestions in the past few years. Do pay a visit to this café if you are more of a lone wolf or someone who prefers the silent vibes in an aesthetic cafe. Gorge on their pocket-friendly and wide range of coffee, tea, and quick bites at this vintage-themed café!

🍲 Elma’s Bakery and Kitchen: Elma’s Bakery opened in 2011 towards the entrance of Hauz Khas village and is famous for its large variety of homemade bread, croissants, jams, and sauces. You will fall in love with their desserts and confectioneries. 

🍲Mia Belle: Mia Bella raises the bar when it comes to having a meal with a view. Relish some fantastic food with a scenic view of Hauz Khas tomb, especially during the sunset. The menu and the interior at Mia Bella are inspired by the Mediterranean countries Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Greece. Their specialities are cocktails and Sangrias.  

🍲Cravity Cafe: This little cafe, which opens to a Fuschia pink door, is situated towards the corner of Hauz Khas market and serves some fantastic bites and beverages. Make sure to try their pizza and their freshly brewed coffee at Cravity. Locals recommend their Khao Suey and decadent chocolate dessert!

🍲Naivedyam: A lavishly decorated dining room featuring dark wood for a range of classic Southern Indian cuisine.

🍲 Summer House Cafe: A vibrant cafe with bright decor & a big terrace serving American & Western-style fare & cocktails. Does get super crowded in the evenings, though.

Things to Keep in Mind While Shopping in Hauz Khas

✅ Location: The market is located in South Delhi. It is adjacent to JNU and close to IIT, and many students frequent it.

✅ The market remains open from Monday to Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. It is closed on Sundays. 

✅ All the food outlets are open 7 days a week and mostly remain open till 10.00 pm.

✅ It’s best to visit on weekdays as there are fewer crowds on weekdays compared to weekends when it becomes very crowded.

✅ During the weekend’s visit during the morning hours.

✅  The best months to visit Hauz Khas are from October to March when it is relatively cooler in Delhi.
