“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.” –Audrey Hepburn

From being best friends to going through school and college together, Harman and Gursimran's story makes us believe that soul mates are real. Like a beautifully penned novella, their wedding story is not a cliche but just the right kind of romance for all. Plus, their wedding is a celebration teeming with gobs of inspiration, bundled with so many fresh elements that have us in awe!

Scroll down to check out #GursimransGotAThindForHarman gorgeous wedding celebration in Kapurthala where you'll not only witness an opulent couple in designer outfits but moments of pure love captured perfectly by Sunny Dhiman Photography!

Introducing Harman & Gursimran

"Gursimran and I have known each other for over 10 years," Harman recalled to us, "Our families have known each other for many years, but we only started talking on his 18th birthday. Once we did, the rest became a page of history in our stories."

For Harman Preet Kaur and Gursimran Preet Singh, the journey from being best friends to partners has been an eventful one. But one thing that the two always knew was that they were meant for each other. The couple's wedding festivities took place in Kapurthala while their reception was held in Jalandhar.

Chunni Ceremony & Joint Jaggo

The chunni ceremony, combined with a jaggo for both families was held at the Khera Farms, Shahkot. Harman wore a beautiful pink and green sharara with gorgeous golden embroidery and jewellery that included statement pieces like her OTT passa. Another feature of Harman's outfit that caught our eye was the back of her sharara's blouse that was intricately designed in cutwork by Saffron Designs. Gursimran, on the other hand, chose a contemporary off white kurta, with a pink and rose gold brocade Nehru jacket.

Intimate Mendhi Ceremony

The mehendi ceremony for Harman's side was a gorgeous intimate affair. The bride dressed up in a stunning golden yellow lehenga with 3D embroidery and minimal jewellery. Her mehendi design was a neat and beautiful amalgamation of auspicious elements that consisted of elephants, lotus flowers, jaali designs and chandelier motifs. Additionally, adding an extra streak of glow to her outfit were her floral kadas and flowers in her hair!

 Bride's Traditional Jaggo

Much like a traditional sangeet that lasts till the late hours of the night, the jaggo ceremony is quintessential to a Punjabi wedding. Harman's jaggo ceremony was a whole new affair held with her friends and family present. Dressed in a jaw-dropping multi-coloured phulkari lehenga with a uniquely designed blouse studded with pearls, mirrors and tassels and a pin-worthy latkan that read 'Hamu Da Viah', Harman won everyone's hearts in this ensemble.

Bright Maiyaan Function

The Maiyaan ceremony took place before the wedding at Harman's residence, which was drenched in bright yellow decor and marigold flowers. Donning a beautiful sunflower yellow suit with mirror work and floral jewellery, Harman looked effortlessly beautiful in this ceremony as her friends and family members applied haldi and gave her their blessings for the future.

Groom's Traditional Vatna

Taking place at the groom's residence, the Vatna ceremony is the equivalent of a traditional haldi. In this ceremony, surrounded by friends and family, Gursimran was covered in haldi and fed sweets by them, all the while ensuring that these quirky moments were captured on reel.

Bride's Choora Celebration

Harman's Choora ceremony was yet another mini celebration before the main event. Dressed in a pretty bright pink suit, the bride had her choora ceremony with her family. She also managed to sneak in a few steal worthy bridal solo shots which we're bookmarking for sure!

Beautiful Anand Karaj

The couple's wedding took place at the Ber Sahib Gurudwara in Sultanpur, making it the first wedding to take place there. Harman wore a beautiful maroon hued outfit designed by Ali Xeeshan with golden embroidery which she matched with stunning gold OTT jewellery. Gursimran, on the other hand, contrasted with his bride's outfit in a cream coloured sherwani with gold and red embroidery and a uniquely designed red stole on one side.

Grand Reception Party

The reception, which was held at the Haveli Heritage Empress, Jalandhar, was the final function of the celebration. Drenched in beautiful decor elements like heavy green and white foliage, designer fairylights and chandeliers, there was nothing that didn't impress us. Harman donned a scintillating silver gown with a long veil that trailed behind and a dainty tiara in her hairdo while Gursimran chose a baby pink bandhgala suit with light emblems of embroidery in silver.

Vendor Reviews

Wedding Photographers

 Sunny Dhiman Photography

Sunny Dhiman Photography, Sunny Dhiman is an excellent photographer and filmmaker. He did a fabulous job on our prewedding shoot and our wedding festivities. We paid extra for his presence at 4 of our main events and it was really worth it. The man has an eye for exquisite shoots that your average photographer might not have. My recommendation for booking any photographer, videographer, or vendor in India is to thoroughly go over your contract and make sure you have exactly what you want in the contract to avoid confusion later on. As I am an NRI bride there were many things I was not aware of that is common practice in India and some things that I thought were a given but in reality, it was not. However, I am very happy with this vendor and my photos/videos.

Arora Portfolio

They are very kind and are always open to suggestions and ideas. They are not pushy or forceful poses on you. They do a good job capturing candid shoots!

Wedding Venues

Khera Farms, Shahkot

This venue was so accommodating to all my wishes and requests and was willing to work with me in every matter to make our event a super hit!

Haveli Heritage Empress, Jalandhar

Haveli is a good outdoor venue for a nighttime event. Their food is excellent and they offer great package upgrades if you want to wow your guests with food quality and choice. Haveli offers in house decorators and DJs to choose from so it is truly a one-stop-shop for those who do not want the headache of having to find vendors.

Wedding Decorator

Eventwala

This wedding decorator decorated our home and all our events except the reception. I cannot say enough good things about this vendor. They truly saved my wedding and went above and beyond on every single event. Any wish of mine they completed. They not only managed the decor, but they offered event management services as well, even though we did not hire them to do so. We had a bad experience with two other wedding decorators who backed out on us at the last minute (a week before our functions began) and Eventwala literally became our saving grace. They were so straightforward and made sure I knew everything they were going to do and if I did not like the decor or setup, even when they had begun the work, all I had to do was tell them and they would change it to just how I wanted it. Truly THE BEST vendor at my wedding. I would highly recommend them to any and everyone.

Jashan by Swati and Sumit

This vendor wow-ed us for our reception decor. I told them I envisioned a royal English soiree and they did exactly that. I did not have to guide them or change anything, they understood my vision perfectly and executed it so well. In fact the night before our reception there was a bad thunderstorm that caused all the decor to get wet or fly off. On the day of the reception, they doubled up their team to ensure the decor was perfect before the start of the event. A very reliable vendor with unique ideas!

Bridal Makeup Artist

Shahid Naar

I had originally booked my makeup artist for my wedding and reception as I am a very picky person when it comes to my makeup. Undoubtedly, the wedding day makeup looks good in pictures, however, in-person I looked like a ghost because my foundation was way too light for my skin tone. Shahid Naar is a good makeup artist but does not have very good communication skills or customer service. I kept telling him and his team my wishes however they chose not to really listen to me. After the team left I touched up my makeup myself. I chose to cancel my reception booking after my experience on the wedding day and do my own makeup on my reception.

Bridal Designers

Ali Xeeshan

Ali Xeeshan really creates a one of a kind dress for all his clients. I created my dress with one of his assistants pulling ideas from his previous designs and some designs I really wanted to incorporate into my dress. His team mailed me swatches for colour choices to ensure I was getting exactly what I envisioned for my bridal dress. His team was easy to work with and helped me custom design my dream bridal dress.

Shweta BS Ahluwalia

Shweta is such a dream to work with. She goes above and beyond for all her clients and is always willing to ensure her clients are 100% happy. I am never unhappy with her work. She works really hard to make all my designs one of a kind!

Nadar Designs

This designer is a family friend who recently started a business. They worked with me to custom create my haldi dress. They sent me progress pictures along the way so if I need to make changes they could make them. It was easy to work with them.

Luxurious 786

I have wanted Marium from Luxurious 786 to create my reception dress for a few years now. Marium makes very heavy Pakistani bridal wear in the US and I wanted her to help bring my vision to life. She was so easy to work with! We went over every single detail and she was always there to answer my questions or make changes if I needed to. The dress she ended up making me was such a masterpiece-it shined like diamonds in the light and looked very regal.

Mehndi Artist

Anil Bridal Mendhi Artist

Anil is an extremely talented mendhi artist and can recreate any design you show him. He was very easy to communicate with. He is also very good at advising which designs would look good together. Very good choice for the picky brides with elaborate design ideas.

Wedding Jewellery

Malhotra Artificial Jewelry

They offer a huge variety of artificial jewellery to match any and every outfit. The store has sales associates who work with clients one on one to match jewellery to outfits. They have a second floor solely dedicated to shagun items for both the bride and groom.

Wedding Entertainment Company

Lok Rang Noor Art

They do such a fabulous job at performing traditional gidda to pump up any Punjabi party! Easy to work and communicate with. I love that they are still keeping this traditional dance form alive.
