Best Hair Care Ideas For Bride To Follow For Luscious Locks

Amp Up Your Regular Haircare Routine

Source Freewill

One of the best ways to maintain good hair health is by having hair products that suit your scalp and hair. While finding yourself the perfect shampoo and conditioner is a deal that is not always ideal given the vast array of options in the market. However, there are amazing options for customising your entire hair care range through brands like Freewill and Bare Anatomy. They ask you to take a hair quiz, based on which they help design a shampoo, conditioner and hair serum which can help treat specific ailments for your hair and all of this is just under 2k! These customised hair regimens are so great that they last you for a good few months before they need replenishing. So, I say they're one of the best shampoos out there!

Homemade Hair Treatments You Should Try

1. Apple Cider Vinegar To Repair Hair Damage

With winter right around the corner, we suggest you start using apple cider vinegar as an after a shampoo wash. This miracle ingredient not only helps remove buildup on your scalp but also add extra shine to your locks. Plus, when regularly used, the frizz in your hair starts dying out very easily.

2. Banana Mixture To Revitalize Your Hair

It's no secret that bananas are good for our health. Packed with nutrients and high in potassium, they are health food that can we can easily benefit from. According to Healthline, bananas contain the mineral silica, which helps your body to synthesize collagen, which can make your hair stronger and thicker. Thus, they make amazing hair mask ingredients. All you need to do is mix one ripe banana with two tablespoons of coconut milk and let that mixture sit through your hair for 30 minutes. Trust me, this mixture will save your hair's life!

3. Butter To Add Moisture

There's a long-standing practice in Ethiopia where people use butter to moisturise their hair and protect it from sun damage. Yes, you read that right. Butter. It's rich and creamy and turns out that it can add some softness and moisture to your hair! So, for those who have excessively curly hair, we suggest you use a bit of butter as a deep conditioner and bring a glossy shine to your hair and improve its texture.

4. Brewed Tea To Increase Hair Lustre

You know, I am a tea enthusiast. I love tea and my days starts and ends with a cup of tea. However, tea is known to have a similar revitalising effect on our hair. If you think your hair's been looking a bit dull lately, then we suggest you brew yourself some black tea and then once it cools off, pour it in your hair and let it sit for ten minutes before rinsing it out. The results are going to be amazing!

5. Eggs To Transform Your Hair

Raw eggs are probably one of the best ingredients for hair and skincare. The yolk, rich in fats and proteins, is naturally moisturizing, while the white, which contains bacteria-eating enzymes, removes unwanted oils. Thus we suggest you whip up about 1/2 cup eggs and apply it as a mask. Now, we must warn you, the smell is quite pungent and long staying, so we suggest you use a fragrant shampoo to get rid of the smell.

6. Dairy Products To Moisturize Dull Hair

Yet another ideal cure for dull hair are dairy products like sour cream and yoghurt. The lactic acid present in these products can gently strip away dirt while the milk fat moisturises, replenishing any kind of lost moisture. After all, all that styling and harsh pollution can zap the moisture out of your hair. All you have to do is massage 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yoghurt into damp hair and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, followed by cool water, then shampoo hair as you normally would.  This treatment can be applied every other week.

7. Lemon To Relieve An Itchy Scalp

With winters nearing, the scalp dryness is going to take a notch up. So, we suggest you whip up a mask of olive oil and lemon juice to soothe the itchiness. The acidity in lemon juice helps rid your scalp of any loose, dry flakes of skin, while the olive oil moisturizes the [newly exposed] skin on your head. Just mix 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, 2 Tbsp olive oil, and 2 Tbsp water, and massage into your damp scalp. Let the mixture sit for 20 minutes, then rinse and shampoo hair. This treatment can be applied every other week.

8. Honey To Reverse Sun Damage

Whether it's hard water or sun overexposure or your oh so trusty flat iron- the demon behind your hair dehydration can be plenty. However, nature's sweetener, honey, can help beat it all. Since honey is a natural humectant, it attracts and locks in moisture, thus a honey mask will be very good for you, even if it seems like a sticky situation. Massage about 1/2 cup honey into damp hair and let it sit into your hair for 20 minutes, then rinse it with warm water.

9. Beer To Add Bounce To your Hair

While there are beer shampoos available in the market, the product itself has more chance of giving better results than the shampoo. The fermented drink contains generous supplies of yeast and B vitamins, which works to plump tired strands. Mix 1/2 cup flat beer (pour beer into a container and let it sit out for a couple of hours to deplete carbonation) with 1 tsp light oil (sunflower or canola) and a raw egg. Apply to clean, damp hair, let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water. Or add flat beer only to a spray bottle and spritz onto dry hair. When the liquid evaporates, the remaining protein residue (from the wheat, malt or hops) continues to strengthen and structure hair.

10.  Baking Soda To Remove Residue Buildup

You know what they say, nothing eats through product buildup like baking soda. Sodium bicarbonate breaks acids and removed excess oil and restores shine. However, overuse of baking soda can lead to excessive dryness. Thus people with naturally dry hair should use this sparingly. The best way to do this is to mix 1 to 2 Tbsp baking soda with small amounts of water until thick paste forms. Massage into damp hair and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with water, then shampoo your hair followed by conditioner. This homemade treatment can be applied every two weeks.

Food You Should Eat

The power of eating clean is vast. Besides offering you a healthy body and glowing skin, it aids in strengthening your hair follicles. This means the dream volume and lustre you’ve always wanted for your hair is achievable through food. So, get closer to your hair goals by eating foods packed with vitamins and minerals like eggs, spinach, sweet potatoes, fatty fish (like salmon), yoghurt, meat, walnuts, pumpkin and flax seeds. These are food items that are rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals that promote hair health and restore hair in case you're suffering from hair loss.

Supplements To Add Your Routine

As we age, our intake of food rich in minerals, vitamins and proteins decreases as our appetite falls. Plus, the food ingredients these days are not exactly that great. Thus, you should consider taking the right kind of vitamins that boost hair growth. You can go in for over-the-counter vitamins that are rich in antioxidants and vitamin B which is great for hair growth and strength. Similarly, supplements like biotin can also help.

Getting Regular Trims (Or Doing Them Yourself!)

Source Pinterest

One of the most important things about maintaining healthy hair is that you should have healthy ends. However, thanks to the deteriorating environment and our bad habits in general, our hair ends split very easily. And these ends need to be cut off, as there is no way to fix split ends. Thus, I suggest you get a hair trim every two-three months.  It'll keep your split ends at bay and give you a fresh look all the time!

Give Yourself A Hair Spa At Home

At home hair, spas are fun, even if they're a little time taking. All you need is a spa cream, which can easily be bought online. What you need to do is wash your hair, shampoo it and then apply the cream in your hair thoroughly. Also, prep a hot towel and then tie it around your hair. Leave it for 20 minutes, then wash the cream off. While you wait for the cream to condition your hair, you can go in for a skincare routine or just apply a sheet mask for that time.

A Weekly 'Chumpi' Routine Is a Must

Look, we know that no one enjoys oiling their hair. Even I am always looking for alternatives for oiling my hair. But we all know that oiling your hair is extremely important. It gives your hair essential nutrients and keeps it healthy and shining. Trust me, even if you do it once a week, it keeps your hair healthy. But the point is that you need to find the right kind of oil. For some that maybe olive oil, for others it may be coconut oil. I use castor oil for my tresses and boy, does it keep my hair healthy! So ladies, oil your hair!
