When you have had the honour to help so many couples plan their weddings, your own wedding is sure to be a splendid sight. And of course, the same happened when Aanchal Tuli aka The Millennial Bridesmaid decided to tie the knot with her beau Ishan. The diva bride is best known to plan picturesque weddings and assist brides-to-be like a true best friend. Be it wedding shopping, hiring vendors or keeping you at peace–Aanchal does it all to ensure a smooth wedding planning sail for the bride.

So when she planned her wedding, it was a showcase of all things beautiful–A burst of colours, impressive decor, flattering outfits, exquisite jewels and inspirational aesthetics. Being a wedding planner herself, the bride made some uber-smart choices (which we have mentioned in the end as Unmissable Planning Tips From The Bride). While Aanchal looked like a dreamy chirpy bride at all her wedding functions, Ishan wooed us with his classic outfits choices. But what stood out is how both of them kept the spirits high and enjoyed their revelries.

Furthermore, their vendor selection was another applaudable aspect that turned this dreamy wedding into a reality. The couple chose some of the finest wedding professionals who are way too good at their work–Fotowalle-The story folks for photography, Clique Events for the decor and Jasmeet Kapany for wedding day makeup. PS, All of them are our esteemed vendors and you can book them through and get quotations to plan your perfect wedding.

Vivacious wedding celebrations of Aanchal and Ishan

Peppy Mehendi

A vivacious mehndi ceremony drenched in colours, fun and good vibes was what officially kickstarted the wedding revelries of Aanchal and Ishan. The diva bride Aanchal envisioned a colourful ceremony but picked only 2 shades–pink and yellow for the primary decorations. Instead of the usual genda phools decorations, the venue chirped with bright colourful ribbons, paper props and a DIY setup. Some more fun props like #TeamBride Straws and a favour cart replete with clutches, bangles and earrings kept the guests busy. And the simplistic yet quirky mehndi seating area was everybody's favourite spot. Every photo clicked during the mehndi ceremony turned out beautifully bright!

Talking about the couple, well Aanchal skipped a formal lehenga and giggled around in a vivid yellow kurta and jacket set. Spilling the beans about the same, the bride shares, "I knew this was my only chill event and the kurta-jacket kept me cosy and warm. Still managed to my twirls though." Completing her mehndi look were the uber gorgeous gota jewels comprising of a maang tikka, a statement ring and a pair of earrings. The groom Ishan kept it all comfortable to be able to dance his heart out on Dhol; he wore a kurta set and amped it up with a Nehru jacket.

Engagement + Sangeet

The Sangeet cum Engagement ceremony was a night of all things WOW! A dramatic arch-filled pathway led to the main event which was bedecked with fairy lights. Even the pool was surreally beautified with floating candles (major decor goals)! Also, ditching the quintessential colourful LED lights helped the couple get the most amazing stage photos ever. FYI, the colourful light used on stage for decorations kill the real colours in photographs.

Aanchal bedazzled in a midnight blue gota patti lehenga which she unexpectedly found at a store in Delhi's Rajouri Garden market! She added new gota and pearl borders to the dupatta (sourced from Lajpat Nagar) to make it 'bridal enough' and completed the look with kundan set and a stack of bangles. Ishan matched the look in a bandhgala set and white bottoms. A peppy 90's playlist played the entire night giving the feels of an elaborate Sangeet night straight out from a Karan Johar movie.

Haldi

The D-day began with an emotional and intimate haldi-chura ceremony. A yellow saree with a pink brocade blouse was the perfect haldi outfit for the bride which she paired with floral jewellery gifted to her by her aunts. "I think this was the one time everyone was emotional and even though the ceremony was short and sweet, we have some lovely candid photos and videos of my entire family from this event," the bride tells. And we couldn't agree more with her...cuz, just look at the pictures!

The Wedding

How can a wedding planner's own wedding not impress! And of course, we were not taken by any surprise when we chanced upon the breathtaking snaps of Aanchal Tuli's gorgeous wedding. Ornamented with floral touches, aesthetical signages and peachy drapes–their day wedding was purely a picturesque spectacle. And we CAN'T stop dreaming about their magnificent mandap which was nothing less than a floral marvel. Creating using rajnigandhas and pink roses, the massive mandap was the clear highlight of the wedding decor.

Dressed in a vibrant pink lehenga, the gleesful bride made a traditional entry under a phoolon ki chaadar on the original version of 'Din Shagna Da'. With her double dupatta game super strong, and jewellery game stronger–the bride was a vision to behold. And most importantly, she made for a fun bride who enjoyed her D-day without any inhibitions. Isn't that how it should be? The groom Ishan, on the other hand, hated the usual blingy embroidered sherwanis but finally found the one at Dressage Inc in Shahupurjat which equal parts classy and understated just like the groom himself.

And guys, that's not all - the couple's friends planned a surprise acoustic performance by Dhruv Angrish who sang all their favourite songs. The couple even had their first dance while he sang Ishan't most favourite song–Pehla Nasha. A few moments later, Ishan himself took the mic and sang for the bride *Awww*

Unmissable tips from the bride

- I got my mehendi done a day before the main event, which gave me time to get my mehendi photoshoot in peace and also dance without a worry on the main event day.

- I escaped the crazy haldi that's currently trending online but still managed some happy, skin-friendly moments.

- Working closely with wedding photographers taught me the importance of lighting at night events. The ring ceremony + sangeet was our only night event and my brief to Clique Events was simple; no coloured LEDs, let my fairy lights shine. And shine they did, giving us the best stage pictures ever!

- I'm a fan of day pheras - both as a planner and as the bride. Everyone's chirpy and cheerful, no oldies sleeping in the background and finally, the nice and bright pictures as memories for life!

- I knew Mehndi was my only chill event, so I skipped a formal lehenga and bought a comfy kurta + jacket combo to keep me warm and cosy. Still managed to do my twirls though!

Fotowalle–The Story Folks

I have known Parag and Kanupriya for a very long time and I'm so glad I could have Parag shoot our wedding. He was like a family member throughout!

Clique Events

I worked with Saurabh from Clique Events and this has to be my best wedding planning decision. I was super involved in every aspect of decor planning and was super worried about things would turn out without me supervising everything on the main event days. But one look at the setup of the mehendi changed all of that. They delivered exactly what I wanted and more! Everyone who was at the wedding couldn't stop praising the decor and I've already got them three more wedding projects after that. Highly recommended!

MUA Jasmeet Kapany

I had Jasmeet Kapany for my wedding morning and I am so glad I listened to her advice about opting for the traditional gajra bun without worrying about my round face type. My face was super dry after the makeup sessions from the first two functions and Jasmeet used soothing skin oils that made a lot of difference. Jasmeet is really as good as everyone says she is and super fun to have with you on the wedding morning.

MUA Gayatri Sharma

I booked Gayatri Sharma for the Mehendi and the Sangeet event. Both looks were great and exactly how I wanted them to be. The sangeet look, in fact, is my favourite because she gave me the glam look that event needed without making me look over the top in any way. Highly recommended!
