You don’t always need a seven-day soiree for your wedding when a day is just enough to ring in all the madness. And who showed us better than this adorable couple, Kartikeya and Manini. They rounded off their wedding celebrations in just one day with as much glitz and glam.

From the spectacular peachy decor that gave an English touch to the wedding, the bride’s offbeat dark pink bridal choora and heirloom jadau jewellery that lit up her ivory and gold lehenga, the groom’s sassy entry on a golf cart to the guests vibing in their colour coordinated outfits—this wedding incorporates quite a few elements that are worth crushing over.

1. Lively & Vibrant Decor of the Wedding

The Phoolandevi events crew did cast a spell for this Day wedding with each corner beautifully trimmed with hues of peach, blue and pink. Right from the sitting lounges, the mandap, the dance floor and the walkway to the jaimala stage, everything was wreathed with elegant decor elements.

Outdoor mandap all beautified with peachy drapes and floral decorations on top.

The walkway to the jaimala sprinkled with colourful origami butterflies made by kids in Ghazirpur village.

Personalised confetti cones with tulips are just our favorite!

Beautifully assembled floral wall used as a backdrop.

From the bride,

“The decor theme had a vintage backyard feel with various elements including the drapes, flowers and the furniture, origami butterflies, paper lanterns, floral vinyl for the dance floor and some bamboo structures along with the pastel coloured drapes. The colours we picked were light blue, blush pink and beige with a pink floral print. Ridhi Nagu of Phoolandevi got my brief and did a fabulous job with the whole set up.”

Turquoise vases filled with fresh daisies, roses and baby’s breath make for a perfect centerpiece

And then this unique Floral Mandi!

2. Personalised Hip-Flasks

These custom-made hip-flasks are one of the coolest wedding accessories we spotted so far. And not to forget the couple's uber cool hashtag 'KATMAN' inscribed on them!

Finding it difficult to create your wedding hashtag? Here some ways to create a unique one.

3. Bride’s Getting Ready Shots

Amongst all the beautiful shots clicked by Mementos of Shades Photography crew, the ones that completely had us at first glance are these stunning bride's getting ready shots. Especially the one where the bride can be seen smiling and taking a selfie.

For my makeup, I always wanted to work with Jasmeet Kapany who is one of my closest friends and a makeup magician, to be honest. She kept my look chic with flowy hair, subtle makeup especially since it was a day wedding.

4. Colour coordinated Groom’s Squad

Sticking to the colour palette of the wedding, all the women from the groom’s team elegantly dressed themselves in shades of peach. The dapper groom gang donned orange saafas to stay true to the theme.

So, if you’ve got a wedding lined up in your family in the coming days, you know where to take inspiration from!

5. Bride’s unique entry under the umbrella

For the entry, the bride ditched the usual phoolon ki chaadar and opted to dance through the walkway under a white lace parasol umbrella on the tunes of 'Best day of my life' which looked dreamy AF in every which way!

6. Groom’s dramatic entry

The groom too made a head turning entry by arriving in style on a golf cart gorgeously decorated with helium balloons.

7. A Jazzy Sundowner

The couple wrapped up their big day celebrations with a sundowner bash that witnessed all the guests dancing, giggling and enjoying their hearts out.

How they met...

Kartikeya and Manini met through common friends in Mumbai a few years ago. They started dating in 2011, and within the first couple of years itself, they both knew that this is it for them and that they'd love to spend the rest of their lives together.

And how he proposed

Kartikeya proposed to me when we went on a holiday to Sri Lanka. So, we are sitting at Bentota beach and He gives me his phone and earphones to watch something and I realized it’s this video. Kartikeya stayed true to his love for filmmaking and he surprised me with the cutest video, basically asking me to marry him. He got my folks, his parents, our families and closest friends to tell me that I should marry him. He even included some clips of a puppy (my weakness) in that video.

As the video came to an end, he went down on his knees asking me the question, coupled with the most gorgeous ring I could imagine. Of course, I said yes to him and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. He always brings a smile to my face and I hope that I do the same. :)

How the bride planned the wedding on her own

So, it started out with me picking my outfit first in Mumbai at this store located in Juhu called Sushma Creations. I opted for an ivory lehenga with delicate gold, pink and green embroidery. I found the lehenga pre-stitched which they fitted to my size. They were super quick in their delivery and extremely patient with me.

For my jewellery, I was always keen on wearing a family heirloom so I opted for a pearl, ruby and gold necklace passed down by my mother, which was passed down to her by my grandmother.

For my wedding favors, I picked up embroidered pouches from Chandni Chowk and in each of those I did a mix of ivory chanderi dupattas, bindis, and a set of gold plated bangles from Peahen Jewels.

For the invitations, Kartikeya and I had sent e-invites to our friends. My lovely friend, Shagun Mitra designed my beautiful e-invites.

Since we didn’t get an event planner on board, we managed everything on our own. We all divided responsibilities and thus it was very smooth and we pulled off a well-planned wedding, just what we had hoped for. My husband, Kartikeya is a cinematographer (Orange Kat Films), he got his team to shoot our wedding and he tied up with a photography team - Memento of Shades to shoot candid still images. Both the teams were extremely professional and have captured the essence of our D-day beautifully. I couldn’t have been happier with the services.
