Isn't DIY just one of the most satisfying and awesome concepts ever? And when you add that same element to your Intimate Wedding, it's even more enjoyable.

Ever since the Coronavirus pandemic hit us, and the country went on lockdown, many brides had to bid goodbye to their amazing designer outfits that they were going to wear at their weddings. From not being able to be delivered to not being sewn on time, the reasons are many. And now, even though weddings have started taking place, many brides have been unable to get their hands on their outfits for the same reasons.

But fret not, dear brides, for all you need is the power of DIY and an impeccable sense of style. That's why, we have a few ideas for you, on how you can create (or recreate), easy wedding outfits for your #IntimateWedding!

Easy DIY Outfit Ideas For Brides

Wedding stylist, image management consultant, and founder of Styl.Inc, Meha Bhargava said, "With Intimate affair, wedding clothing as we foresee would be shifting towards minimalism. As a Wedding Stylist we suggest, toning down on the bling and playing with color and silhouettes and subtle embroidery this season. These combined with digital prints, or hand-painted prints will add more panache and individuality to your wedding wardrobe. Having much time at hand, we suggest our brides-to-be work on mood boards, decide on things such as color palettes, not just for yourself but the entire wedding party, extending itself to each event. Color-coordinated outfits photograph really especially since you have a limited gathering and you ought to be starting a trend."

A Reimagined Heavy Suit

Do you know what's the simplest wedding outfit for brides to wear on their wedding day? A suit! Yes, we know, it sounds boring. But it doesn't have to be! Now, we've already seen brides in gorgeous Anarkali suits for their weddings. However, these days, brides have been putting together reimagined heavy suits, with a mix of palazzos and patiala stalwarts. You can either pick out your favourite heavy suit from your bridal trousseau or can also get an outfit ready from old lehengas and sarees. One of the most inspirational ideas we saw this season was our real bride Tiffany Bedi, whose mother created her bridal outfit out of her own old bridal outfit.

Your Mom's Saree

Our mother's saree stash is a treasure full of hidden gems. In fact, every child dreams of their mother's saree wardrobe, planning to wear her saree at least once! So, why not find your bridal outfit in her saree closet? We bet you that your mother definitely has a few silk sarees hidden away for 'special occasions' only. Whether you pick a Kanjivaram, or a Banarasi, or maybe even a simple saree, your mother's saree is bound to make you glow more than ever. One of out top inspo with this hack is real bride Megha, who wore her mother's scintillating gold saree for her intimate wedding.

We all have a few hidden gems in our closet, but in bits and pieces. It could be a really gorgeous hand-painted or heavy dupatta, or a kurta that is embroidered intricately. The idea here is to create an outfit from different elements, like a heavy dupatta, with a simpler kurta and a lower that compliments this ensemble. You can always add a tonne of oxidised jewellery to this outfit. In such outfits, it's not just the clothes doing the talking, but other elements like your makeup, hair, and jewellery. Also, don't forget to throw in your most prized pair of shoes!

Your Mother's Bridal Outfit

A lot of times, you'll find that your mothers have retained their bridal outfits to date, with hopes of passing it onto you when the time came. And honestly, this is the best time to reuse your mother's bridal outfit and make it your own. Bridal outfits can be heritage heirlooms, and if your mothers is handy, then why not? if there is an issue of refitting, then you can always get it fitted according to yourself. But trust us, this is one idea that'll be talked about for years to come.

There are many ways to create a unique blouse and match it with a long skirt. If you have a cape handy, then you can add that to your blouse. You could also wear a jacket with your saree blouse to make it look chic. Another way to recreate a unique blouse is by pinning a matching dupatta on the shoulder to give an open cape look. Unique blouses are one of the best ways to show off a designer look, without really visiting one!

Crop Tops & Skirts

One of the simplest ways of winging an outfit is by pairing an amazing skirt with a sexy yet chic crop top. You could either pair a heavily embellished crop top with a plain skirt or switch it around and mix a heavily embellished shirt with a plain crop top. Remember to throw in makeup that totally compliments this look and even add jewellery that speaks louder than anything!
