Pastels, Sea Breeze & Pure Emotion: Inside Celeb MUA Dimplle Bathija & Vishal Budhwani’s Wedding

That’s exactly how the journey of Dimplle S Bathija, celebrity and bridal makeup artist from Mumbai, and Vishal Budhwani, who runs Aster Properties, unfolded. And when two people grow together with that kind of ease and intention, the celebration that follows naturally becomes a reflection of their journey, warm and soulful and crafted straight from the heart.

Introducing Dimplle & Vishal

Both Dimplle and Vishal grew up in Mumbai, with families just miles apart, yet their lives ran in parallel for years. They finally connected on the dating app Happn, where Vishal became the first and only person Dimplle ever met through the app. What followed was seven years of steady friendship built on showing up, learning each other and becoming one another’s constant. By the eighth year, the shift toward love felt natural. Their bond simply deepened into something they both already knew was home.

The proposal was modern fairytale meets effortless reality. On March 5th, 2025, during one of Dimplle’s work trips, Vishal planned a quiet surprise at Yona Beach Club in Phuket. Which was a surprising, given that she is the planner, the detail-lover. While he believes the best moments unfold on their own. Out at sea on a floating yacht, with warm breeze and music around them, he went down on one knee with roses, a two-heart solitaire ring, champagne and strangers cheering in the background.

For the wedding, they chose a place that already felt like theirs instead of a faraway destination. Dimplle had always imagined a sundowner ceremony by the sea with golden light and a soft breeze, and Sun-n-Sand gave them exactly that. With 350 to 400 guests, the celebration felt warm, joyful and beautifully true to who they are.

Whimsical Mehndi

Dimplle curated each wedding event with its own mood, palette and emotion. With support from her friends in decor and planning, she crafted a celebration that felt thoughtful and intentional. The Mehendi unfolded in two parts. The first was an intimate home mehendi rooted in tradition, with marigolds and warm, familiar textures. The second was the main mehndi function, which shifted into a playful, feminine vibe filled with lilac tones and fresh florals. A standout detail was the perfume bar, where guests created their own custom scents, adding an interactive touch that everyone loved. For the function, Dimplle wore a lilac and pink floral corset saree by Sonaakshi Raaj. Light, colourful and celebratory, it captured the mood of the day perfectly.

Musical Cocktail

The cocktail night shifted the mood into a bold, bling-forward celebration where disco balls, candlelight and plenty of sparkle set the tone. A dancing entrance, a couple’s performance with laser lights, silver confetti, champagne popping and a hydrangea-and-gypsophila cake kept the energy high all evening. The couple also cut a stunning four-tier cake with a white base adorned with florals, and a lower tier completely covered in blue and white blooms. Dimplle wore a striking blue gown by Mireyasanya, featuring dramatic ruffle detailing along the neck and shoulders. Vishal complemented her look in a sleek black embroidered tuxedo from Yacchati, adding a refined, modern edge to the night. Their looks matched the night’s vibrant, high-glam spirit perfectly!

Sundowner Wedding

The pheras took place against a breathtaking setup of tall perennial blooms and a mirrored aisle softened with hydrangeas and colour bombs. The entire wedding was tied together with custom signage featuring caricatures of Dimplle and Vishal, a playful detail that made every event feel personal and unmistakably theirs.  For her entry, Dimplle walked in under a Phoolon ki Chaadar as soft dry-ice smoke floated around her, turning the moment into something almost dreamlike. She performed a special dance for Vishal, and he surprised her with one of his own, adding sweetness and spontaneity to the ceremony.

As a makeup artist, Dimplle always knew her bridal look would be deeply personal. She didn’t want the usual trend-driven aesthetic. She wanted emotion, colour and a sense of her own story stitched into every detail. After months of searching, nothing felt quite right until she tried on a lehenga at Nivedita Saboo Couture. The soft pink hue and delicate craftsmanship felt like it understood her completely, and that became her wedding day look.
