The last time I gushed over arranged marriages was when Shahid Kapoor & Mira Rajput turned up for the Koffee with Karan show and displayed their mushy love overdose to the world. I clearly remember how I was totally in awe of them and felt a sudden faith in arranged marriages. Cut to now, Komal and Tanveer, the couple whose wedding I am gonna take you through in this blog, are making me feel the same! Remember the Amritsar couple who swooned us with their ethereal color-coordinated Rimple Harpreet Narula Outfits? Well, it is the same couple I am talking about.

Komal runs a fashion label named KO-llection by Komal Sandhu, and it was through her label that she met her in-laws. Tanveer's mother and sister visited her studio as clients and around two years later their families decided to set them together. "I think we knew there’s some connection the day we started talking. It didn’t feel like an arranged marriage and we haven’t known each other before. It was the beginning of something really special and beautiful for both of us," recalls Komal.

Isn't that super sweet? Well, that is not all! Their wedding was equally heart-warming and abundant with inspiration. Both Komal & Tanveer have an exquisite taste of fashion, which clearly shows with the outfits they wore for their functions. Apart from their much-talked-about wedding looks in unique-hued regal outfits, each of their wedding function was an ogle-worthy display of gorgeous outfits, decor goals and hearty snaps. Photographed by our vendor Art Capture Production, Komal and Tanveer's Sikh wedding revelries are sure to cast a spell for a prolonged time!

Wedding Revelries of Komal & Tanveer

Blissful Sufi Night

What could be a better way to begin the wedding revelries than hosting a Sufi Night with the legendary Sufi singer Sartaj on the stage! Ditching a quintessential Sangeet/Cocktail ceremony, Komal's family delved into some Sufi fun. The night was no less than a fashion extravaganza with all the ladies dressed in shararas and ghararas and the men in statement Pathani suits. The bride was undeniably the cynosure of the night as she slipped into a velvet Sabyasachi sharara set and paired it with the most gorgeous jewel ensemble. Layered necklaces, an oversized passa, and heavy earrings perfectly complimented her elegant outfit. Smokey eyes, nude lips, and well-defined brows rounded off her look.

Sundowner Mehendi

Held in the outdoor space of the bride's residence, the mehendi was a legit vibrant affair. Everything was gorgeously decked up in zesty yellow hues. Right from the drapes and the printed flooring to the bride's seating area, multiple floral chandeliers and photo booth - it was all yellow. And we must say that it was impressive and a unique mehendi decor idea. Komal radiated with sheer joy as she got her hands laden with mehendi, sitting against a floral curtain seating done with gobs of marigolds and sunflowers. For this ceremony, she clad herself into a self-designed outfit. She ditched a quintessential silhouette in yellow or green and crafted an ivory peplum style kurti with red flared pants adorned with gota patti and mukaish work. She played her jewellery game strong for this ceremony as well. We love how she teamed her stunning mehendi outfit with a mathapatti, massive earrings and a necklace with pearl highlights.

Recalling an emotional moment from her mehendi ceremony, Komal recalls, "My dearest friends sang a very special song for me, 'yaara teri yaari ko, maine to khuda maana'. It was a surprise and was an emotional moment for everyone around."

Intimate Sagan

The zesty mehendi ceremony was followed by an intimate sagan ceremony. Komal donned a self-designed emerald green suit in velvet for this ceremony. An oversized maangtikka and a neck-clinching choker completed her look. Whereas the groom, Tanveer looked absolutely debonair in a voguish long trench coat paired it with an orange turban. The sagan ceremony was further followed with haldi and chooda ceremony at the bride and groom's respective place.

Serene Wedding

To say the least, Komal and Tanveer's Anand Karaj bewitched us in multiple ways. Whether it was the regal outfits of the couple or the mesmerizing decor, every bit of their wedding exuded luxuriant feels. But it was Komal's bridal look that swooned us the most. She wore a breathtakingly royal Rimple & Harpreet Narula lehenga in the most unusual colour ever. She picked an olive grey lehenga featuring a majestic array of floral bursts and resplendent peacocks, with a heavy dusty pink blouse. She wore double dupattas and set a tulle cinnamon dupatta as a veil and added the quintessence of red with a zari-work bandhej dupatta. Being a fashion-forward bride, Komal gave utmost importance to her jewels. She ditched the minimal jewellery trend altogether and donned the most oversized statement ornaments. Her drool-worthy jewellery ensemble consisted of an aadh necklace, a huge nath, a passa along with an oversized maangtikka and a set of multi-tiered chaandbali earrings. While talking about her bridal look, we cannot miss her multi-tiered oversized kaleeras with tassel detailing as well.

For the makeup, she trusted none other than her MUA sister Joban Sandhu, who gave her a perfectly natural yet glam look and non-dramatic baby breaths-adorned hair bun.

Tanveer perfectly coordinated his bride in a fashionable angrakha set by Rimple and Harpreet which was layered with a pistachio green silk robe. The couple shopped for their wedding outfits together, and how perfectly they grabbed coordinating outfits! *Woah*

The Royal Reception

The week-long wedding festivities concluded with an opulent reception night at Tanveer's farmhouse. Dressed in their exquisite Sabyasachi outfits, the couple made a stunning entry with dhol and firecrackers. While Komal picked a subdued green lehenga set with an all shimmer dupatta, Tanveer wore an intricately embroidered velvet Achkan in emerald green. Quite a fashionable couple, we must say! In contrast to the couple's outfits, the decor boasted of the colour red. The venue was gorgeously adorned with fairy lights, candles, cascading floral chandeliers and metal cage hangings. However, the massive stage decor done with gazillions of flowers in red and green was the definite highlight of the night.
