Everyday Activities That You Should Never do With Your Engagement Ring On!

Your engagement ring is not just a piece of jewelry but a symbol of love, commitment, and cherished memories. And, while you may want to flaunt it every second since your other half put it on, there are certain everyday activities where it's best to give your engagement ring a break. From protecting its precious gemstones to avoiding unnecessary wear and tear, we’ve listed some activities that you should never do with your engagement ring. Scroll below to read more!

Activities to Avoid With Your Engagement Ring On

Cleaning

While it’s tempting to wear your ring every single day, at all costs remove your ring when you’re cleaning. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners can damage its delicate metal and gemstones. So, clean first and then continue donning your gorgeous engagement ring.

Cooking

Whether you are cooking something on the pan or kneading a dough, cooking can put your engagement ring at risk of damage or loss. Grease, heat, and sharp utensils can scratch or damage your stone. So, keep that ring out of the kitchen!

Exercising

Activities like weightlifting, rock climbing, or simply jumping rope can bend or scratch your ring. Remove it before hitting the gym or participating in any physical activities to prevent accidents with the ring.

Applying Lotion & Moisturisers

Lotions and moisturisers can build up on your engagement ring, dulling its shine and attracting dirt on it. So, in order for your ring to retain its actual shine, take it out and wear it again once you’ve finished moisturising your skin.

Showering

Definitely take off that diamond before hopping in the bath. The soap lather or the shampoo residue can leave a film on your ring. So, in order to not cause any harm to the ring, never take your ring to the bath.

Sleeping

Another place to avoid wearing a ring to is your bed. Tossing and turning in your sleep can cause your ring to snag on the bedding fabric or scratch against the blanket. Remove it before bedtime to prevent damage and ensure a comfortable night's sleep.

Swimming

At no costs wear your ring when you are going for a swim. Chlorine in pools and saltwater in the ocean can be harsh on the metal and gemstones of your ring. Take it off before swimming to avoid discoloration, corrosion, or loss!

Applying Makeup or Hair Products

Ladies, avoid donning your stupendous engagement ring when applying the makeup or hair products. Hairspray, makeup, and other greasy products can leave a sticky residue on your engagement ring, making it extremely dirty.
