Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage. And when you decide to get married, you know that you've found the one person that not only puts a smile on your face but in your heart as well. Such is the wedding tale of Abhilasha and Vir, a couple that had a wonderful relationship full of romantic nuances, which culminated into a happy union.

Abhilasha and Vir met each other 4 years ago on a movie shoot. Abhilasha, who is a costume designer and stylist, and Vir, a producer, hit it off instantly. And after a 4-year relationship which was a roller coaster ride of emotions, romance and everything nice, the couple finally made the decision to get married this year in April. The plan was to have a gorgeous destination wedding in Goa with all their friends and family in the most fabulous way possible. However, those came to a halt when the pandemic hit.

Nevertheless, the couple didn't lose hope on their wedding plans and decided to hold an intimate wedding instead in Delhi. Scroll down below to check out their quaint wedding journey!

Introducing Abhilasha & Vir's Pretty Intimate Wedding in Delhi

For Abhilasha and Vir, the idea of holding an intimate wedding came to them after much deliberation. This time, which was almost like a godsend home-cation due to the virus, was one of the rare moments which they could spend together, undisturbed. Thus, they decided to hold the wedding, so that they could stay with each other and keep each other safe under a roof. And after much contemplation and whipping up of last-minute plans, the couple held an intimate wedding June in Delhi!

Abhilasha had major plans and ideas for her bridal trousseau. However, when they had to change plans, she wasn't very excited but felt the prospect of an intimate wedding to be promising. The only obstacle the couple faced was letting go of all the preparation they'd done like the hotel bookings, cards, gift hampers, etc.

Since they had just a week to plan the wedding, the couple opted to decorate their wedding in flowers and other DIY decor elements with items like bohemian rugs, frames, pants and ribbons- sourced either online or from the local market. The guest list was cut short to just 40 people and was ready to be streamed on live video for the other 250. Plus, they decided to take safety precautions which included sanitising the entire house before every function. And just like that, after an intensive week of planning, they were set to hold their wedding!

Mehendi Ceremony with DIY Decor Elements

The Mehendi was a quaint event held at their family home, for which Abhilasha wore a gorgeous blush pink lehenga with floral design and a multicoloured cape by her label and matched the ensemble with beautiful floral jewellery. On the other hand, Vir wore a stunning lakhnavi from Manyavar.

Stunning Intimate Wedding with Bride in Maroon Sabyasachi Lehenga

For the wedding, Abhilasha dressed in a gorgeous maroon Sabyasachi lehenga with crimson threadwork. She paired that with a gorgeous Kundan set with red rubies, beautiful rani haar and a matching mathapatti. The groom, on the other hand, wore an ivory silk jacquard sherwani with an off white stole. Both the bride and groom wore masks that matched perfectly with their outfits. To add more to their already present safety precautions, the couple set up temperature checks at the entrance, along with ensuring all guests had the Arogya Setu app installed, plus fumigation at the entrance and distribution of fresh masks was carried out for everyone.

The couple is, however, planning a grand celebration hopefully next year which will comprise of a sangeet and reception- once the pandemic breeze is past and they can celebrate with their family and friends without any restrictions.

A Word of Advice From The Bride

Our gorgeously embellished and elegant bride, Abhilasha, was kind enough to end her wedding story with a final note for all the brides-to-be out there to give them a share of her motivation and courage. Here's what she has to say, "Time is running and you never know what will be the situation later, celebrations can always happen at a later date too but think on what you'll be losing all this while. Talk, observe, care, feel, touch and hold your partner with more attention without rushing to be somewhere else. For now, enjoy your self-quarantine with love."
