Not every bride dreams of wearing a heavy 10 kg lehenga on her wedding day. Some would rather prefer to be dressed in a featherlike stress-free couture that would be comfortable to walk in and easy to breathe in yet make sure the limelight is on them!

One such designer who is precisely catering to needs of such brides is Rahul Mishra. Last night, on the day four of FDCI India Couture Week, the designer presented his latest collection named, "Parizaad". The garments in this collection are fresh, graceful and completely lightweight making it just right for brides who don't want to get bogged down with the weight of their wedding attire.

The show saw an assortment of silhouettes-  anarkalis, angarakha kurtas, long dresses, trapeze blouses and sarees - in the colour palette of soothing whites and moved on to pretty pastels and bright hues such as blue and yellow. The fabrics were by and large organza, chanderi, silk and cotton. In a recent interview, Rahul Mishra also revealed that all of these hand-embroidered garments have taken almost 2,000 human hours.

While the outfits were a combination of his distinctive florals and other that drew inspiration from the mosaic motifs and geometrical patterns from Islamic architecture, his usual floral prints and a few mosaic motifs remain our favourite for brides and bridesmaids.
